CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 —12 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE OHIO <br />DEPARTMENT OFTRANSPORTATION (ODOT) SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL <br />GRANT PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, ODOT is accepting applications for grant funding of infrastructure <br />improvements identified in the school travel plan accepted by ODOT District 12; and <br />WHEREAS, the Safe Routes to School Grant program will reimburse 100% of eligible costs <br />for all phases of qualified infrastructure improvements within 2 miles of K-12 schools, including <br />engineering and right or way construction, with awards of up to $1,000,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to apply for said financial assistance from ODOT. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and he is <br />hereby authorized to apply for grant funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) <br />for the Safe Routes to School Grant Program. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required; and that the <br />Director of Economic and Community Development be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute all <br />other non -contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and afterthe earliest <br />period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />ATTEST: <br />BEATRICE TAYL <br />Clerk of Council <br />First Reading: d &S <br />Second Reading: _2,S <br />Third Reading: Q—t k :j;� <br />Committee: <br />LOMJ.
