CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 - 44 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE FOUR (4) <br />LIFEPAK 35 MONITORSIDEFIBRILLATORS FROM STRYKER SALES, <br />LLC., ALONG WITH ALL NECESSARY ACCESSORIES FOR EACH <br />DEVICE, AT A COST OF $180,772.10 UNDER THE EMERGENCY <br />EXCEPTION TO PUBLIC BIDDING, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATESUCHPURCHASE, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Fire Department has a need for additional <br />specialized emergency medical equipment, specifically, four (4) Lifepak 35 <br />monitors/defibrillators from Stryker Sales, Inc., in order to better serve our residents in need of <br />care; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety and Fire Chief that <br />this specialized equipment be provided by Stryker Sales, Inc. at a cost of $180,722.10; and <br />WHEREAS, Stryker is the sole provider for the equipment and has previously provided <br />such equipment to the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to <br />purchase from Stryker Sales, Inc. said medical equipment for the North Olmsted Fire <br />Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: This Council determines that securing for uninterrupted use within the <br />Division of Fire, four (4) Lifepack 35 monitors / defibrillators and related equipment from <br />Stryker Sales, Inc. addresses a real and present emergency immediately necessary for the public <br />health, safety and welfare. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase four (4) <br />Lifepak 35 monitors/defibrillators from Stryker Sales, Inc. at a cost of $180,772.10. Any <br />contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of <br />this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. The trade-in of surplus property for a <br />credit in this transaction is further authorized, if necessary. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to <br />acquire necessary and essential life-saving equipment; and further provided it receives the <br />
