CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2025 -17 BY: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2025 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 2(b) of the City Charter currently provides for the City Planning and Design Commission to prepare a Comprehensive Plan for the City every ten (10) years; and WHEREAS, said Article V11, Section 2(b) further provides that said Comprehensive Plan prepared every ten (10) years shall be submitted to the City Council for its approval or revision; and WHEREAS, in 2024, under the Direction of Economic and Community Development Director Max Upton, city staff, supported by a diverse steering committee of residents and community stakeholders, launched the Comprehensive Plan review process for the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, the review process created an opportunity for community input to chart the future of North Olmsted through the creation of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the 2025 City of North Olmsted Comprehensive Plan encompasses many aspects of community life including, but not limited to, commercial development, housing, environment, economic development and transportation; and WHEREAS, the 2025 City of North Olmsted Comprehensive Plan shall serve as the key policy guide for decision making concerning the developed and natural environment in the City of North Olmsted and shall serve as an aggressive agenda for action over the next decade; and WHEREAS, the City Planning and Design Commission completed its preparation of the new 2025 City of North Olmsted Comprehensive Plan and approved the said Comprehensive Plan at a public meeting held on the 16th day of January 2025; and WHEREAS, a full and complete copy of said 2025 City of North Olmsted Comprehensive Plan is on file in the office of the Director of Economic and Community Development; and
