CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO.2025 - 91 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE ONE 2026 <br />FREIGHTLINER M2106 PL US F550 623 WT HOR TON AMB ULANCE FOR <br />THE NORTH OLMSTED FIRE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM FROM HORTON EMERGENCY VEHICLES FOR <br />A PRICE OF $495,000 AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has recommended that the City of North Olmsted replace one <br />ambulance rescue squad deployed by its Fire Department due to its age and mileage; and <br />WHEREAS, the replacement will protect the health, safety and general welfare of North <br />Olmsted residents and other citizens by supplying the Fire Department with the latest equipment <br />to insure the continued safety of citizens and fire fighters during emergency medical responses; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Council has, by separate legislation, addressed the costs and appropriations <br />for this purchase, which is exempt from public bidding through the State Purchasing Program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the anticipated cost of the ambulance is $495,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase the <br />ambulance through the State Purchase Program from Horton Emergency Vehicles as a permitted <br />exception to the competitive bidding procedure, and to further authorize the Mayor to execute all <br />necessary contract documents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by O.R.C. Section 125.04 and which the City <br />is authorized to participate in pursuant to Charter, one (1) new Freightliner M2 106 F550 WT <br />Horton ambulance as detailed in the specifications on file in the Fire Department from Horton <br />Emergency Vehicles at a cost of $495,000.00. <br />SECTION 2: To effectuate such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other appropriate documents required <br />by the authorized vendor or the State of Ohio, including such documents as set forth in Exhibit <br />A. <br />
