CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 34 By: Mayor Jones A RESOL UTIONA UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF RECREA TION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG') FUNDS FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER & COMMUNITY CABIN ADA ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for grant funding administered by Cuyahoga County including funding from 2026 Special Municipal Grant application; and WHEREAS, the 2026 Special Municipal Grant funds total $1,500,000.00, with $1,000,000.00 going towards street improvement projects and $500,000.00 going toward Senior related projects; and WHEREAS, the senior related awards will be up to $167,000.00 for a Senior related project; and WHEREAS, the contract dates will be July 1, 2026 — June 30, 2027; and WHEREAS, based on grant requirements, the administration requests authorization to apply for CDBG Special Municipal Grant funding to construct accessibility improvements for ADA compliance at North Olmsted Senior Center and Community Cabin ADA entrance improvement project; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement to apply for such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute a contract required to accept such funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized on behalf of the City of North Olmsted to make application for a 2026 Special Municipal Grant administered by Cuyahoga County, to accept the grant funds, if awarded, and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga County if required, following contract approval by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that immediate authorization will allow the City to meet the April 23, 2026 deadline;
