CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 64 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A <br />GRINDER FROM EARTHWORX EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE THROUGH THE SOURCEWELL <br />COOPERATIVE PURCHASE PROGRAMAT A COST OF $160,027.90, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has secured grant funding to support the <br />purchase of a towable, horizontal grinder, aka Mini Beast, from Earthworx Equipment for use in <br />the Forestry Division, by and through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchase Program in the amount <br />of $160,027.90; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio EPA Recycle Program, known as the Community and Litter Grant, <br />has awarded the City of North Olmsted funding in the amount of $122,397.00 and the City's <br />matching amount is $37,630.90; and <br />WHEREAS, as authorized by the amendment to the City of North Olmsted Charter in <br />November of 2025, the City of North Olmsted is now a participating Sourcewell member; and <br />WHEREAS, Sourcewell is a cooperative purchasing program for Government and <br />Education agencies designed to solicit and establish competitive pricing; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an <br />Agreement to purchase a towable, horizontal grinder, aka Mini Beast, from Earthworx Equipment <br />for use in the Forestry Division, by and through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchase program at <br />a cost of $160,027.90. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to execute all documents <br />necessary to purchase through the Sourcewell cooperative purchase program (Sourcewell #010925 <br />- BAN) a towable, horizontal grinder, aka Mini Beast, from Earthworx Equipment for use in the <br />Forestry Division in the amount of $160,027.90. Any additional cost increase will not require <br />additional approval, but still must be approved by the Board of Control. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that immediate authorization will allow the equipment to be acquired in time for use <br />in the 2026 summer season; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />
