CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2026 - 58 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED THE NORTHEAST <br />OHIO PUBLIC ENERGY COUNCIL C'NOPEC'9 2026 ENERGIZED <br />COMMUNITY GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, Ohio ("City") is a member of the Northeast Ohio <br />Public Energy Council ("NOPEC") and is eligible for one or more NOPEC Energized Community <br />Grants for 2026 ("NEC Grants") as provided for in the NEC Grant Program guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Grant Agreement with NOPEC in <br />substantially the form presented to this Council to receive one or more NEC Grants. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT. <br />SECTION 1: This Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City <br />to enter into the Grant Agreement to accept the NEC Grants for 2026, and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute the Grant Agreement and all other documents necessary to accept the NEC Grant funds. See <br />Grant Agreement attached hereto. <br />SECTION 2: This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the adoption of this Ordinance were taken in an open meeting of this <br />Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any committees that resulted in those formal <br />actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that immediate authorization is required given that the deadline to accept the grant funds has <br />expired and already has been extended one time; and further provided that it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />First Reading: �-- <br />Second Reading: Su S,pc.��GCtq� <br />Third Reading:c4 <br />Committee: <br />
