CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 57 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOL UTIONAUTHORING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THEAPPROVED <br />STATE CAPITAL GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF S75,000.00 FOR THE OLD <br />TOWN HALL REVITALIZATION PROJECT, PHASE II, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council seeks to authorize the Mayor to accept the State Capital Grant in <br />the amount of $75,000.00 for the Old Town Hall Revitalization Project (Phase II) as part of the <br />State's Capital Budget for the reasons outlined below; and <br />WHEREAS, Old Town Hall is a building recognized on the National Historic Registry, <br />based on its age and having played a key role in the history of North Olmsted. The City of North <br />Olmsted has planned for renovation work in order to continue to use the space for community <br />gatherings and events for arts and culture; and <br />WHEREAS, Phase II improvements to the interior of Old Town Hall include, but are not <br />limited to, restorative work, new restroom and auditorium finishes, restoration of the floors and <br />utility upgrades, among other improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to accept <br />funding from the State of Ohio in order to fund capital improvements at Old Town Hall, and <br />accordingly directs this Resolution to our Representatives in the Statehouse. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Mayor to accept appropriations <br />by the State of Ohio in order to provide funding in the State's Capital budget for necessary capital <br />improvements for the Old Town Hall Revitalization Project (Phase II). <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to send a Certified copy of this <br />Resolution to the appropriate administrative agencies and public officials, as may be directed by <br />the Administration, as well as including elected representative in the House and Senate. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that immediate authorization will allow the City to promptly receive funds and to <br />undertake improvements in an expeditious fashion; and further provided that it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
