ORDINANCE N0. 84-1 . - INTRODUCED BY: Mayor and Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF A LAW DIRECTOR; ESTABLISHING TERMS, CONDITIONS AND COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section li The Mayor's appointment of Dale C. Feneli, as Law Director for Mayfield Village is hereby confirmed subject to the terms, conditions and compensation hereinafter established. Section ~ The appointment confirmed herein shall be effective until December 31, 1984'or until the appointment of a successor Law Director, whichever is later, except that either the municipality or the Law Director may terminate the employment of the Law Director upon providing thirty (30) days written notice to the other of intention to so terminate. Section 3 As Law Director of Mayfield Village, Ohio, Dale C. Feneli shall be responsible for the administration of all civil, municipal legal matters and shall perform all duties specified by the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, with regard to the Director of Law and by the statutes of the State of Ohio with regard to the duties of City Solicitors. The Director of Law shall not be responsible, however, for the conduct nor compensation of the Municipal Prosecutor, who shall be separately appointed, directed and compensated. Section 4. The Law Director shall personally conduct or directly supervise all activities for which he is responsible. In any event, attendance at meetings of Council shall be the sole and exclusive responsibility of the Law Director except as hereinafter stated and all adversary litigation shall be conducted personally by the Law Director except where otherwise provided. In the event of absence from meetings of Council by reason of illness, personal emergency, vacation or unavoidable absence from Cuyahoga County on other non-municipal business, or in the event of being unable to conduct litigation by reason of illness or personal emergency, Dale C. Feneli shall cause all services necessary to the municipality to be~ rendered by a qualified attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and having muncipal legal experience, all at Dale C. Feneli's sole expense. Section 5. The charges to the municipality for services to be rendered by the Law Director shall be as follows:
