ORDINANCE N0. 84-19 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Fred N. Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />351.11 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, IN ORDER <br />TO PERMIT THE DISPLAY OF A HANDI- <br />CAPPED PARKING CARD AS EVIDENCE OF <br />ELIGIBILITY FOR PARKING IN LOCA- <br />TIONS PROVIDED FOR THE HANDICAPPED <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, passed <br />Ordinance No. 81-59 on November 16, 1981 enacting Section 351.11 of <br />the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, pertaining to <br />parking for the handicapped; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 351.11 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, was premised upon the provisions of Section <br />4503.44 of the Ohio Revised Code pertaining to registration and <br />license plates for handicapped; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 351.11 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, permits a motor vehicle to park at special <br />parking locations provided for the handicapped only upon the proper <br />display of the special license plates provided for the handicapped; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, effective January 1, 1983, Section 4503.44 of the <br />Ohio Revised Code was amended to provide, in part, for parking cards <br />for those handicapped persons who do not own motor vehicles, thus <br />permitting said persons to have the automobile in which they are being <br />transported parked in a convenient location; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, upon the <br />recommendation of the Police Chief, have determined that it is in the <br />best interests of Mayfield Village to amend Section 351.11 so as to <br />provide for the use of the handicapped parking card, as aforesaid; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section ~ Section 351.11 (c) of the Codified Ordinances <br />of Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(Deleted material appears like ~hge and new material appears <br />like THIS) <br />351.11 Parking for the Handicapped. <br />* ~ <br />(c) No person shall stop, stand, or park any motor vehicle <br />at special parking locations provided for the handicapped under <br />this Section unless the motor vehicle is displaying the special <br />handicapped license plate OR THE HANDICAPPED PARKING CARD pro- <br />
