-~, <br />:: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 80- 2 <br />t~' INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole <br />~~~~~~ <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE .TO ENTER <br />C`~!~_ <br />A CONTRACT FOR HOSPITALIZATION FOR EMPLOYEES <br />OF THE VILLAGE WITH THE PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE <br />COMPANY. <br />WHEREAS, the employees of the municipality have over- <br />whelmingly expressed their desire, in writing, to discontinue their <br />current hospitalization contract with Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio <br />in favor of a hospitalization contract with the Prudential Insurance <br />Co.; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the <br />best interest of the employees of the municipality to switch hospitali- <br />zation contracts, now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby <br />authorized, empowered and directed to enter into a contract with the <br />Prudential Insurance Co. for hospitalization coverage of employees <br />of Mayfield Village based on the proposal which is attached hereto <br />as Exhibit "A" and in a form approved by the Director of Law. <br />Section 2. The Director of Finance is hereby directed <br />to terminate the contract of Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio immediately <br />following the effective date of the Prudential Insurance Co. coverage <br />and in accordance with the terms of the contract existing between <br />Mayfield Village and Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio. <br />Section 3.
