1 <br />Minutes of the Special Meeting <br />July 16, 1954 <br />The Council met in .Special. Meeting, pursuant to due notice, on <br />Friday, July. 16, 1951, at 8:00 P.° M. at the Village Hall, Mayor Donald <br />.Hodgson pr-eliding. <br />Roll Call: Present -Messrs Whiting, Beard,0atess 8c Endress <br />Absent--Messrs-Taylor and Swanson. <br />1 <br />Mayor Hodgson introduced the matter of.-the appointment of a <br />new special policeman. <br />Chief of-Police, Jerome Dixon, by leave of Mayor Hodgson, stated <br />that Mr.~McMastera is at the present time unable to work nights during the <br />creek-days. He also stated that two men were needed to properly enforce the <br />traffic laws.. of the .Village of Mayfield. Therefore, Chief of Police Dixon <br />recommended that William Doremus be appointed a special policeman of the <br />Village of~Mayfield. Chief.of Police Dixon also suggested that the Police <br />Department needed another.revolver, and_requestedauthorization to~purchase <br />the same. <br />Mayor Hodgson appointed Mr, William Doremus a special policeman <br />of the Village of hayfield, <br />It vvas moved by Mr. Beard. and seconded by Mr. Whiting that the <br />appointment be confirmed. <br />Roll Calls Ayes -Messrs Wh~.ting, Beard, Oatess &.Endress. <br />Nays. -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />It was moved by-~dr._.Endress and seconded by Mr. Beard that the <br />Police Department of the Village of Mayfield be authorized to purchase <br />one revolver. <br />Roll Call.
