Minut®s of the Regular Meeting <br />February 18, 1952 <br />The Council of th® Village of Mayfield met at the Town Hall <br />in regular meeting on the 18th day of February, 1952, at 8:00 P. Pd., <br />Mayor Gustav Swanson presiding. - <br />Roll Calls Present - Messrs Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Sch®uring, <br />Cass and Oatess. - <br />Absent ~ None. <br />The Minutes of the r®gular meeting of January 21, 1952, were <br />read by the Clerk. It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mr. Sch®uring, <br />that the Minutes be approved as correatod. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Agessrs Maltz, Sloan, Endress, Sch®uring, <br />Cass and Oatess. <br />Nays N one . <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mr. Edelnan administered the Oath of Office to Mr. Endress, who <br />was absent at the last Council meeting. <br />The mayor reported that the Safety and Service Committee m®t ota <br />February 8th, and the Minutes.of that meeting were read. This C ommittee <br />suggested to Council that foa• economical measures the office of r®gular <br />patrolman be abolished. Thee-C~ef ° s salary would then be increased from <br />X300.00 to X375.00 per mo jth, and the Special polio®men would b© allowed <br />to work 24 hours a week,~or on special cases a maximum of 30 hours, at <br />the rato of X1.25 per hour. The Committe® also suggested that a new police <br />car be purchased for approximately X500.00 and the present police car. <br />The repairs which are.nac®ssary on the present car tivo uld amount to almost <br />the same figure. Since the Service Truck is in very bad condition, and <br />would require a.great d®al of repair.to make it at all efficient, it was <br />recommended by this committ®o that .a now Services Truck be purchased. The <br />present fire hose is also in vary bad condition, and it was suggested . <br />that the Fire Depart cent be authorized.to purchase 500 ft. of new hose. <br />The me®ting was then turn®d over to discussing these recommendations of <br />the Safety and. Service Committee. <br />It was moved by Dro Waltz, seconded by Mr. Scheuring, that <br />the matter of Patrolman Patterson's position be tabled until next month, <br />in order to give more thought -to the ti~ahole situation. <br />Ro11 Calls Ayes - Messrs Wa1tz,Sloan,Endress,Scheuring, <br />Cass and Oatess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />
