Mayfield ,met in the Town Hall isA <br />Special Meeting on: the 6th day of November, 1952, at 8.00 P® P~., Mayor <br />Gustav .Swanson .presiding®. <br />Roll Call: Present- Messrs 1~'altz, Sloan, Endress,.S~heuring,Cass & Oatess <br />Absent- --- Nonee. .. . <br />The matter concerning the purchase of a new Service Truck, which was <br />tabled at the reg~r Oet®ber.meeting, awaiting the outcome of the election <br />of November lath, was the first..-order ,of businesses .. <br />The bids,tha~ were received at the previous,.meeting were reviewed <br />by Council. Mr. Endress.reported.that the.. Safety Committee recommended the <br />Council accept the. bid f~om.Forest City Motors for a 1953 Dodge Truck <br />complete at X3,700.00® Its. Sloan brought up the matter of transferring the <br />old box onto. the new truck, which would save some of the cost; however, <br />discussion revealed that most concerned felt it would be better to have the <br />complete new truck... <br />Ordinance No® t~17 entitleds aQAn Ordinance to Purchase a Service <br />Truck From The Forest City ~dotor.Car Company", had been given its first <br />reading-at the. October .20th meeting,. <br />It. was moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Dr. 'Maltz, that the rules of <br />law requiring an Ordinance to. be read on.three separate occasions be suspended© <br />Roll Calls Ayes ®Waltz, Sloan,.Endress:, Scheuring, Cass ~ Oatess. <br />`,Nays -None. <br />Motion Carr.~:ed <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was molted by Dr.. 1l~altz, seconded. by IUD. Sloan, that Ordinance <br />No.- !i]:7 .be passed.. as read.- <br />Roll Call: Ayes.®V~'altz, Sloan' Endres, Sch®uring, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays o None® <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />The Committee also requested that- Ordinance No. 373 be enforced <br />by the.P®lice Department®. The Clerk was asked to advise all property otivners <br />of their correct house. numbers, and. after a reasonable length of time, if <br />such numbers are raot displayed, further action will. be taken to see that they <br />are taken care of. <br />It was also recommended that a police telephone be installed in <br />Mayor Swanson~s home to relieve Mrs. Dixon from all. of the cal:ls® The Mayor <br />was in agreement that this shoia].d ~ done. <br />1. <br />
