1 <br />Minutes of Special Meeting <br />.March 9, 1953 <br />The Couneil of the Village of Mayfield met in special meeting, <br />called pursuant to due notice, on March 9th, 1953, at 8sOO oQClock P. M., <br />Mayor Gustav Swanson presiding. - <br />Roll Calls Present - Messrs Waltz, Sloan, Endres, Cass & Oatess. <br />Absent - Ddr. Scheuring. <br />The Mayor advised Council.that the special meeting had been called <br />to approve and pass a resolution accepting the Tax Rate to be levied. The <br />new tax valuation for the Village is -2'5OO,OOO.OO as compared wS.th a <br />valuation last. year. of $2,1,000.00. Due.to.the increased tax valuation, <br />the County Auditor has decreased the_tax rate to 3.25 outside the 10 mill <br />limit instead of !~ mill outside the 10 mill limit as voted on in November <br />of 19520 <br />Mr. Sloan introduced Resolution No. 213, entitled: "Resolution <br />Accepting the Amounts and Rates Determined by the Budget Commission and <br />Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying Them_to the County <br />Auditor', which Resolution was read to Council. <br />Tt was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by I~Qrm Endres, that the <br />rules of law requiring a Resolution to be read on three separate occasions <br />be suspended,. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes.- Waltz, Sloan, Endres, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mr. Sloan, that Resolution <br />No. 213 be passed as read. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress,. Cass. & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Passed <br />The ~dayor asked. Dr. Waltz and,.. Sloan if they mould serve on a <br />committee with the Clerk to check into detail the pros and cons of a <br />merger with Highland Heights.. Both Dr. Waltz and I~dr. Sloan agreed to <br />serve on such a committee. <br />Fire Chief Porter sent word by Mr. Sloan that he would like to <br />have the name of ~® Emanuel Fisher placed on. the Honorary List, and, now <br />that Alan Bennett has returned from the Service, he would like to have him <br />re-appointed to the-Fire Department. <br />Tt was moved by ~°® Sloan, seconded by Dr. Waltz that Mr. Fishers <br />name be placed on the Honorary List, and that Alan Bennett be appointed - <br />to the Department. <br />
