Beebe
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPENSATION OF
THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO AN HOURLY BASIS AT THE
RATE OF FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) PER HOUR FOR ACTUAL TIME
EXPENDED IN SUCH POSITION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
"Section 1. There being a vacancy in the position of Finance
Director and no person being available to fill such vacancy on a
full-time basis, the amount of compensation set forth by previous
Ordinance, namely, Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) per year, shall
hereafter be paid to a duly appointed or elected Director of Finance
at the rate of Five Dollars ($5.00) per hour based on actual time
expended in such position.
Section'2. The annual compensation of the Director of
Finance, previously established at Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00)
per year, is intended to-cover normal service not to exceed Two
Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) per year. To accommodate and promote
the service of a qualified Director of Finance, Council hereby clarifies
that the position shall not hereafter require the expenditure of
such time but that the Director of Finance shall be deemed to have
fully acquitted himself or herself in the conduct of such position
by the expenditure of only such time as is necessary to carry out
the duties of the position, compensated as stated in Section 1-.
Section 3. This is an emergency Ordinance immediately necessary
for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents
of Mayfield Village in that it provides for the possibility of filling
the Finance Director's position, as required by Charter, which would
not otherwise be possible in a manner beneficial to the municipality.
It shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirma-
tive vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and
approval by the Mayor, or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by
law.
Alan G.
