RESOLUTION NO. 84-1$ <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE SENATE OF <br />THE STATE OF OHIO TO ENACT H.B. 760 <br />PERTAINING TO THE STATE TREASURER'S <br />INVESTMENT POOL FUND. <br />WHEREAS, H.B. 760 has been introduced into the General <br />Assembly of the State of Ohio, said legislation having already been <br />passed by the House; and <br />WHEREAS, H.B. 760 would establish the State Treasurer's <br />Investment Pool which would permit local governments throughout the <br />State to combine their investment funds through the office of the <br />State Treasurer thereby creating a pool of investment monies that will <br />provide a higher rate of investment return because of the larger <br />investment resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have <br />determined that the State Treasurer's Investment Fund is in the best <br />interests of the municipality and its residents; now, theref ore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, urge the members of the Senate of the State of Ohio to enact <br />H.B. 760 so as to establish the State Treasurer's Investment Pool Fund <br />which will enhance the investment opportunities for local governments. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to Governor Richard <br />Celeste, and to State Senators M. Morris Jackson, Ben Skall, Charles <br />L. Butts, Gary Suhadolnik and Lee I. Fisher and in doing so to request <br />each.such official to respond in writing to the issue raised herein. <br />Section 3s That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />f ormal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4.
