RESOLUTION NO..'84- 19 <br />INTRODUCED BYs Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING GOVERNOR <br />RICHARD F. CELESTE TO ASSIGN <br />PRIORITY FUNDING STATUS FOR FISCAL <br />YEAR 1984 TO THE HEIGHTS-HILLTOP <br />INTERCEPTOR SEWER PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Clean Water Act the State of Ohio <br />receives funding for projects relating to said Act; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have been <br />advised that said funds are distributed on a basis of need to various <br />sewer and anti-pollution projects throughout the State of Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Mayor and Council of <br />Mayfield Village that for fiscal year 1984 the Heights-Hilltop <br />Interceptor Sewer Projecto directed by the Northeast Ohio Regional <br />Sewer District, has not received sufficient priority status to receive <br />funding for fiscal year 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />urge Governor Richard F. Celeste to assign priority status to the <br />Heights-Hilltop Interceptor Sewer Project due to the severity of <br />pollution problems and water pollution control needs of this area <br />which aff ect all of Northeast Ohio, as well as Lake Erie; now, there- <br />fore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, f or themselves and on behalf of all residents in the munici- <br />pality, urge Governor Richard F. Celeste to assign priority status <br />and, therefore, to assign State funding for fiscal year 1984 received <br />pursuant to the Clean Water Act, to the Heights-Hilltop Interceptor <br />Sewer Project as directed by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer <br />District due to the severe water pollution control problems which <br />affect this municipality, the Hillcrest Area and all of Northeastern <br />Ohio, including Lake Eri.e.. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to certify a copy of this Resolution to Governor Richard F. <br />Celeste, to all members of the Ohio General Assembly from Cuyahoga <br />County, to Vernal G. Riffe, Jr., Speaker of the State House of <br />Representatives, Harry Meshel, President of the Ohio Senate, Robert H. <br />Maynard, Director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and to <br />Erwin Odeal, Director, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. <br />Section 3.
