WHEREAS, in the early morning hours of February 26, 1976, a <br />large fire in the Eastgate Shopping Center was reported to the Mayfield <br />Village Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, in response to the call for aid, the Village Fire <br />Department including Firefighter KARL STRASSER moved to the location <br />of the fire; and <br />WHEREAS, Firefighter KARL STRASSER exhiBftsng his 14 years of <br />experience in fighting fires, fought the blaze without regard for his <br />own safety and was later hospitalized for injuries suffered in the line <br />of duty; and <br />WHEREAS, this unselfish and brave act deserves special recog- <br />nition; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />THAT: <br />Section 1. On behalf of the Mayor and the grateful residents <br />of the Villaqe of Mayfield Village, the Council unanimously offers this <br />Resolution of SpecialCommendation to Eirefighter KARL STRASSER of <br />the Division of Fire. <br />? Section 2.
