<br />4H.EAEASI this Council has passed an ordinance creating temportary
<br />Municipal Bus aervice in and through this Village of North Olmsted, to the
<br />Public Square in the City of Clevelarid, Uhio, and,
<br />,.,.'HLREAS, said ordinance provided for such service for a period
<br />about 30 days, and,
<br />,`.dHLRLAS, at the expiration of said period the Village will be entirely
<br />without transportation for its citizens, and,
<br />??dIiLt2EAS$ because of the failure ot obtain transportation facilities
<br />through any other source, it is necessary to establish and ulaintain Nlunicipal

<br />That the hiunicipality establish, maintain and furnish transportation,
<br />by M,_znicipal Bus service, to its citizens to the Yublic Square, of the
<br />City of Cleveland; that said service shall be provided, maintained, arid
<br />furnqshed for all ;aersons desiring transportatior_ in the Village, cr out of
<br />the Village i:,o any point over tiie route of said Bus service, and from any
<br />poinU over or on said route, and within the limits of IVorth Olmsted., Ohio.
<br />Said liunicipal Busses shall be operated over Lorairi Road in said
<br />Village through to the Public Square of the City of Cleveland. The rates
<br />of fares for said i,'unicipal Bus service shall be as follows: Tnirty-five
<br />cents from all points between the County Line and Barton tioad to the
<br />Public Snuare; Twerity-five cents from all points between Stop ?'36 and 0-top ,r21a.,
<br />to Fublic aquare; 'lwerity-cents from all points between Stop #24 and the
<br />easterly limits of the Vi]_lage, to the i'ublic 3quare. rrom the Public Square
<br />the rate of fare shal? be the same as provided ior i.n,;oing transportation.
<br />The fare for inter-Village travel shall be iive cents per person. From all pointE
<br />between the C^unty Line and StDp ;;?36 to Ka_::ms Corners, the fare shall be
<br />1'wenty cents; from all points between Stop 36 :and Stop 24 to Kamt:is Corners,
<br />the fare shall be fifteen cents, ana between a.ll paints from Stop -jj"24 to the
<br />Easterly line of the Village to Kar.uns the fare s_-ia11 be ten c ents per person.
<br />The fare from Kamms Corners to all points in the Village shall be the same
<br />as above prov; ded,
<br />The purchase or rental of busses and all necessary equipmant, and the
<br />hiring, cf employees and labor, and the doing of all things necessary and in-
<br />cident tnereto, to establish, maintain and furnish Niunicipal transportation
<br />service is hereby authorized by this Council. The management and control
<br />of kunicipal Bus operations shall be Dlaced insofar as is leoal, to do so, in
<br />hands of the 2viaSTor and the Public Utilities Committee of Council, and they
<br />are hereby given complete a„thority in reo-ard to such operations and manage-
<br />ment within their leaal rights.
<br />Any funds received from the operatior, of said Kunicipal Bus service
<br />shall be placed in the f'und to be known as the lvlunicipal azs fund, and said
<br />funds shall be used to maintain and pay for the services hereb;; established,
<br />and sa.id funds ai•e hereby appropriated for said purposee :ihould said
<br />funds be insufficient to provide for the rnaintenance of said servi.ce and
<br />the payment of cost in connecti-on therewith, any deficit shall be paid from
<br />the General ?`unds of the Uillage of Pdorth Olmsted, a s hereafter transferred
<br />to said Bas rund.
<br />This is hereby declared to be an emergency r.leasure, necessary for the
<br />preservation of the Public health, welfare atici safety, and to provide proper
<br />and adeauater transportation for the citizens of the Jillage of North Olmsted,
<br />Ohio.
<br />'This Ordinance shall become effec?ive at the earliest period allowed
<br />by 7aw.
