Gareauq Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, Pr-esident of Council; Henry Casfrer, <br />Ralph Christman, James L.eoraard, Dewey Limpeirt, A.L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, Franc s <br />J. 0'Neill. <br />Also present were Lloyd E: Sarnefi, Service I)irector; George Schaaf, Law Director, <br />James T. Wilson, Safety Director, Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William Gerlach, Finance <br />Director; and Louise Nall, C'lerk <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 3, 1962 and the spPCial meeting of April 11, 1962 <br />were approved as recorded.. <br />The Mayor read a communication from the West Shore Assn. of the Council for the Retarded <br />Child advising of the nursery class now being operated by the Council for the Retarded <br />Child at Bethesda-on-the Bay Lutheran Church, Bay Village, Ohio and requesting that <br />any interested families with retarded children be acquainted with this program. <br />The Service Director advi5ed that he had received a petition for 4 or 5 street lights <br />on South Barton Roado This -equest was turned over to the Public Utilities Committee. <br />The Engineer advised of a letter he received concerning work that has not been <br />completed in Olmsted Colony and stated that this is the problem we face in completing <br />subdivisions after all building permits are issued as we do not require a subdivision <br />bond at th i s t i me. <br />clean-up <br />The Clerk read a petition iigned by residents of Revere, Pompton and Gloucester Drives <br />(Beverly Hills Estates) requesting dedication of these streets. <br />Mr. J. Javurek, 27181 Pompton IDr.,, requeste:d that action be taken on the dedicatian <br />of these streets as soon as poss+bleo <br />otherr. Mr. Javurek and the/residents were advised that the Engineer will take aetion or this <br />matter within the next 30 dayse <br />The Clerk read a communication from Robert R. Gilruth, Director af National Aeronaut:ics <br />and Space Administration ( Manr.ed Space Cra1=t Center) expressing the appreciation of <br />the entire Mercur°y team for tk,e action exp'ressed in our Resolutian No. 62-20. <br />The Clerk read a communication firom the Practical Construction Ca. expressing their <br />thanks and admiration for the fine police work done by Lt. Harry Hird and the North <br />Olmsted Police Departmenz when a case of vandalism to one of the homes under constriac- <br />tion in their development was reportede <br />Mr. Mangani reported on the meeting of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation <br />Committee and made the following recommend.ations: <br />l. That the Denton Proper°ty adjacent to the Clague Road <br />Playground be purchased by t'he City for the price of <br />of $1,000,00 plus title costs. <br />2. That the Gity not purchase bronze nameplates from the <br />Fare Poo-te,r Co, <br />3. A new location for the Service Department Garage is to <br />be studied fu:wther by the Committee.
