Present were Paul J. Gareauq Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, Pr-esident of Council; Henry Casfrer, Ralph Christman, James L.eoraard, Dewey Limpeirt, A.L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, Franc s J. 0'Neill. Also present were Lloyd E: Sarnefi, Service I)irector; George Schaaf, Law Director, James T. Wilson, Safety Director, Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William Gerlach, Finance Director; and Louise Nall, C'lerk The minutes of the meeting of April 3, 1962 and the spPCial meeting of April 11, 1962 were approved as recorded.. The Mayor read a communication from the West Shore Assn. of the Council for the Retarded Child advising of the nursery class now being operated by the Council for the Retarded Child at Bethesda-on-the Bay Lutheran Church, Bay Village, Ohio and requesting that any interested families with retarded children be acquainted with this program. The Service Director advi5ed that he had received a petition for 4 or 5 street lights on South Barton Roado This -equest was turned over to the Public Utilities Committee. The Engineer advised of a letter he received concerning work that has not been completed in Olmsted Colony and stated that this is the problem we face in completing subdivisions after all building permits are issued as we do not require a subdivision bond at th i s t i me. clean-up The Clerk read a petition iigned by residents of Revere, Pompton and Gloucester Drives (Beverly Hills Estates) requesting dedication of these streets. Mr. J. Javurek, 27181 Pompton IDr.,, requeste:d that action be taken on the dedicatian of these streets as soon as poss+bleo otherr. Mr. Javurek and the/residents were advised that the Engineer will take aetion or this matter within the next 30 dayse The Clerk read a communication from Robert R. Gilruth, Director af National Aeronaut:ics and Space Administration ( Manr.ed Space Cra1=t Center) expressing the appreciation of the entire Mercur°y team for tk,e action exp'ressed in our Resolutian No. 62-20. The Clerk read a communication firom the Practical Construction Ca. expressing their thanks and admiration for the fine police work done by Lt. Harry Hird and the North Olmsted Police Departmenz when a case of vandalism to one of the homes under constriac- tion in their development was reportede Mr. Mangani reported on the meeting of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation Committee and made the following recommend.ations: l. That the Denton Proper°ty adjacent to the Clague Road Playground be purchased by t'he City for the price of of $1,000,00 plus title costs. 2. That the Gity not purchase bronze nameplates from the Fare Poo-te,r Co, 3. A new location for the Service Department Garage is to be studied fu:wther by the Committee.
