MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTE:D, OHIO <br />FEBRUARY 5, 1963 - 8:05 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Christman, James l.eonard, De:wey Limpert, A. L. Mangani, Francis J. <br />0'Neill, Norman Van Zandt. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service: Director; James T. Wilson, Safety <br />Director; Alex Kanareffy Engineer; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />Absent: George Sc:haaf, Law Director and klilliam Ger1ach9 Finance Director <br />The minutes of the meeting of January 15, 1963 were approved as written. <br />The Mayor advised of the appointment of Jcohn Oring to serve on the. Recreation <br />Commission to fi.ll the unexpired term of Nlrs. Sullivan. <br />The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 10 through 16, 1963 as NATIONAL CRIME <br />PREVENTION WEEK. <br />The Mayor advised that he had the annual r-eport from the Rocky River Municipal <br />Court on file if Council wi5hes to review it. <br />The Mayor also advised that he had the anriual report of Health Service from the <br />County Board of Health and requested the Clerk to send Mr. Limpert, Chairman <br />of the Safety & Health Committee, a copy of this report. <br />The Mayor requested a meeting with Council to go over the I963 Budget on February <br />? 12, 1963 at 8:00 P.M. Council is also to meet with the Public Utilities Committee <br />on that date to review street lighting in North Olmsted. <br />The Service Director advised of court case;s pending filed by Nardi and Kalill <br />Hadad, Sewer Contractors; and lorain Mutuzil Investment Co. for the Varady <br />Subdivision and stated that the Assistant Law Director has prepared answers to <br />the subpoenas. <br />The Clerk read a communication from Robert: Madow, Treasurer of Deerfield Estates, <br />Inc., requesting a sanitary sewer easement: in order that they may construct a <br />sanitary sewer servicing their subdivisiori and tying the Rose Tree Subdivision <br />sanitary sewer into the sanitary sewer on Maria Lane. This was turned over to <br />t4r. Christman, chairman of the Public Deve;lopment & Service Committee. <br />The President of Council advised of the re:ceipt of a letter from the Home <br />Builders Association of Greater Cleveland regarding Ordinance No. 62-173 and <br />requested the Legislative Committee to mee;t with the Association to discuss this <br />matter. <br />The President of Council advised of the re;ceipt of a copy of a letter to the <br />North Olmsted Planning Commission from the; North Olmsted Board of Education <br />advising that the Board of Education does not concur with the proposed route of <br />Interstate No. 80. <br />Mr. 0'Neilt, Charman of the Transportation Committee, reported on a meeti.ng with <br />the Bus Driver°s Committiee, Service Direct:or, Superintendent of Operations and <br />Superintendent of Maintenance on January 118, 1963 at which time a review was <br />made of wages and other requestes made by the Bus Drivers but no decisions were <br />reached at that tirrt4.Request for wage increases was turned down. <br />_._, <br />, .. .,.. :. . . ti.?.?•.?? _
