Christman, Mayor; Henry Caster, Virginia Hodgins, James Leonar<i, <br />Dewey Limperti, A. L. MangBni, Norman Van Zandt, John West. <br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Zaw Director, D. E. Limpert, Safety-Service Directar, <br />W. L. Gerlach, Direetor of Finance, Richard La.bas, City Engineer and Margaret West, <br />Clerk, <br />Absent, Francis J. 0'Neill, President. <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 4, 1964? were approved as corrected. <br />The Mayor read a letter received from Robert F[all Clothes in which they state they will <br />remain clos,?d on Sundays so long as competitic>n remains closed in the City of North Olm- <br />sted, <br />The Mayor asked for authority for the City Enf;ineer to cooperate with Westlake's City <br />Engineer in obtaining preliminary studies necessary for the drainage of the Sperry <br />Creek area. <br />The Safety-Service Director requested authorii:y from Council to advertise for bids for <br />flashing lights for school zones, ten, possib:Ly eleven to be installed at a cost of <br />approximately $4,500. <br />The Safety-Service Director requested authori1ty to install fleshing lights on both <br />Fire Stations. He adviaed there is a quotation on £ile from last year for a cost of <br />$600 for each station light. <br />? The Safety-Service Director advised he has a4quotation on file for a flood light on the <br />policeman at Lorain and Dover Roads, for use when there are night fontball games, etc. <br />The Safety-Service Director requested authority to advertise for a traffic light at. <br />Dover and Butternut Roads, a walk light and traffic light for a total cost of $1,500. <br />The Safety-Service Director requested authority to advertise for bids for installation <br />of a single control from Brookpark to Dover on Lorain, and for relocation of twa traffic <br />lights. <br />The Safety-Service Director advised it will cost about $6,000 to handle traffic change <br />at Dover and Lorain to three laiies coming south on Dover. <br />The Safety-Service Director read a letter received from Howard Johnson Restaurant <br />asking for No Parking signs in front of the restaurant, because of truck parking and <br />oil clrippings on the pavement, <br />The Safety-Service Director requested Council to consider restrict?ng parking on Lorain <br />Road at all times, except in front of small businesses where there are existing merchants <br />that have no way of providing additional parking. He also requested a No Parking ban <br />from 2:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. on all streets. 'rhe reason for this is checking out stolen <br />cars, to clear the streets of old cars, and to have the streets clear for snow removal. <br />A prohibition on parking on Burns and Midvale because of traffic occasioned by the new <br />High School was also requested. <br />The Safety-Service Director reported the Alexandar Road storm culvert near completion. <br />' The North Ridgeville bus extension survey is sti11 in progress. <br />-,. . <br />. . . . . .. .;:, .. , . ,...a.c <::?. „? ? . .,,. d . ?,. :.. . -, . .
