? t <br />r???' ??tl <br />M1 NUTES OF THE MEETI NG OF THE COUNCI L <br />OF THE CI TY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APR9L 16, 1968 <br />9e15 p.m <br />Present: Presedent of Council Francis J. 0'Neill9 Councilmen Cas'Lee, <br />Eian, Hodgins, Miller, Prokasy, West. <br />Also presente Safety-Servsce Director Del Limpert, Finance DArector <br />Gerlach, City Engineer Frank Dutton, Law Director J. Bruce <br />Kitchen and Clerk of Council Florence Holm, <br />Absent: Councolman Dewey Limpert. <br />The minutes of Council meeting of April 2nd were approved as read. <br />The minutes of Council's special meeting of April 8th were also <br />approved as read. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of Public Service & Utilities Commottee, said thAs <br />committee was very pleased with interest shown during the special meeting <br />of this committee on Solid Waste Disposal on April 3rd at the City FBall, <br />It was well attended by Mayors and other interested citizens from the sur- <br />rounding areas. The Public Service & Utilities Committee will meet on <br />Wednesday, May lst. Mrs. Hodgins has been asked to serve on the Cleveland - <br />Cuyahoga County Port Authority Committee. She requests Council to considec- <br />a resolution recommending the Cleveland - Cuyahoga County Port of Authority <br />in the Legislative Committee. <br />Mr. Caster, Chairman of Industrial Development Committee, mentioned 'the <br />brochure printed by the North Olmsted Junior Chamber of Commerce, arad <br />hopes everyone will avail themselves of a copy. He feels they are very <br />well donee <br />As Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Mr. Caster moved that Council <br />extend a courtesy approval of the Mayor's appointment of James A. Bailey <br />to the Recreation Commission, filling the unexpired term of Clarence May <br />(12-31-69). Motion seconded by Mr. Eian. "Yeas" Caster, Eian, Hodginsy <br />Miller, Prokasy, West. <br />Mr. Caster then moved that Council extend a courtesy approval of the Mayor's <br />appointmerat of Warren H. Blakely to Recreation Commission, filting in unex- <br />pired term of Mro H. H, Zimmer (12-31-71), who was recommended by the North <br />Olmsted Board of Educatione Mr. Eian seconded motion. "Yeas" Caster°, EsanA <br />Hodgins, Me llery Prokasy, Weste <br />Mr, Caster said we acknowledge the time, effort and fine performance these <br />resigning citizens have given to the Recreation Commission, <br />Mr. Caster expressed regret that Mr. Ronald Slater has resigned as Director <br />of the Recreation Commission, and requests that a Resolutson of Commendation <br />be prepared in appreciation of Mr. Slater's fine service to the community in <br />guidinq and dorecting our Recreation Program from its inception to the present <br />excellent activities which are afforded atl citizens of North Oimsted, especi- <br />atly for our younger generation.
