Bruce Kitctien <br />Acting City Engineer Michaal Karhan and Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Absent: President Francis J. 0'Neill <br />After correcting a typographfcal error in the spelling of the word "changing" <br />page -4-, third paragraph, the miuutes of Cauncil meetiag of May 19th were <br />approved as corrected. Minutes of special Council meeting of Msy 26Ch were <br />approved as written. <br />Mayor (hristman reported the following: 1) in receipt of telegram, dated <br />June 2nd, from Congressman William E. Minshell, advisin$ his thst the <br />Department o£ Interior will make grant offer of $380,960.40 tvward expansicn <br />of exiatiag Sewage Treatmnt Plsnt; 2) received request frem Dspartaent of <br />Interior to change Rasolution No. 70-10 which designated the Public Heaitfi <br />Service instead of the nepartment of the Interior as the proper io"rsl body <br />to appZy for this grant. Legislation is an agenda taaight and reqvs*&tMi <br />Council act on saune this emening; 3) request 1*gislaticra to purchase piece <br />of psnpertq on west side of Barton Road; 4) received tolay repcrrt fsvu Ludwig <br />& Associstes on faasibility study on reteation bas#.m ; S) rread FroclmaEicn <br />honortag Rosa Dunford on hsr 102nd b3rthday - has 2ivec1 sore than a ceatary <br />in this Citp, and requeeted all e2eeted offi.cials to sfpn prQClmaticrn upon <br />completioa of which Mayor Christman wi11 personal2y present to Roaa lAanfctrd. <br />Mr. Grady, Chairman Legisl.atian Camittee, reported his Ccmittes had met <br />and would like to request Law Director to prepare a resolutfcya +shereby North <br />Olastsd Nould jof.n with ather cities in this area aeking tht Pskral Gcvera- <br />ment to hald hearings in this area under the Clean Air Act of 1967. <br />Mr. West, (hairman Design & Platting and Transportation Conmmittees, reported <br />the fallowing: The Design & Platting Conenittee met on May 28th with a11 of <br />the interssted participants in the Braokpark extens3an. Several iteva had <br />to be straightened out and agreed upon if Council were to consider further <br />the extemion of Brookpark. 3'he follawing were agreed to: 1) Extena3cn of <br />Canterbury? is no part of Brookpark extension project. It is to be ccns#.dered <br />separate and apart; 2) Developers agreed that if there would be rescaing <br />they would be willing to Zimit height of any buixdfngs to ttwc etories north <br />of the extension and in back of anq of the homes; 3) Alao agreel in cleed <br />restrictions they wauld not iustall any auto repairs or sal.es agencias vr <br />gas stationa in this area, and would be open to further restrictioas. Mr. West stated <br />in view of these, sdditioaal legal documents have to be received. Therefore,
