Howard Childs, Clerk of <br />Council Nora Hill. <br />Absent: President O'Neill, Councilssn Sharpe and Wilamoskp. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tam Beringer at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of Sept+~er lb, 1975 were approved as read; Minutes <br />of Special Council Nesting of Ocher 2, 1975 were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christmas reported following: 1) pleased to announce that the transition <br />from North Olmsted Bus Line by Itself to North Olmsted Bus Lisp cooperated with <br />R.T.A. seemed to take place rather sscroth2y. Save added 5 additio~u-1 ruts - <br />morning and evening -and arcs hauling shout 3O0 extra passengers per day; <br />2) there have been queatioas on senior citizen passes: We are honoring say senior <br />citizen identification and the rest of the R.T.A. lines are honoring our North <br />Olmsted senior citizen passes. By aztually there will be one R.T.A. pass for all <br />senior citizens but it w111 not take place for a couple of months; <br />3) explained procedure to rsceire pass for the handicapped at the R.T.A. offices; <br />4) Seanior citizen passes can be recetwtd at the Bus Garage Office Neap ~ru <br />Friday and until Noon on Saturday; also at the Sealth Fair on October 25th. These <br />are golden age certificates of passes end are accepted on all of the lutes. The <br />only one the people will have to go downtown for are the disabled pass and must <br />have a doctor's certificate to that effect. <br />Mrs. Beringer asked about student fares after October 31st. Mayor Cbristtam <br />explained it is incuebent upon our School Board to take advantage of all of the <br />State subsidy for student transportation as they can and then cro doing this <br />the students will be issued identification cards a€u~ they wi11 be riding at half <br />fare. In order to accosplish this it is a very difficult thing. The las awtd <br />R.T.A. are working out tie problems. Ondarstands the problees are pretty wail <br />worked out with Cleveland and it is felt that any problem they have into <br />with Cleveland will pretty much answer any problem they encounter with other sch~aol <br />boards in the County. <br />Service Director Caster reported following: 1) regarding stude~tt fares - talksci to <br />Mr. Scorch and they have turned over to Squires, SAndexs b D all of the in- <br />formation they have and have asked them for a report, etc., as to what the school <br />can do wi*:t the State subsidy soney; <br />2) extended his thanks to A~anistration, Council and all invr-lved with the <br />transition to North Olssted Bets Line cooperated with R.T.A. and this has nQt <br />been easy. There are still a lot of details that have to be worked out.
