<br />Present: President IIewey H. Limpert, Councilmen Aeaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigacy
<br />Saringer, Sharpe, [Jilamosky.
<br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance
<br />Mrector Robert Broctman, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Service
<br />Director Joseph Corrigan, City Engineer Rc>nald Zurawski, Clerk of
<br />Council Florerice Camgbell.
<br />Meeting was called to order by President Limpert at 8:00 P.M.
<br />President Limpert invited members of the audience to join Members of Council in
<br />reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
<br />President Limpert, reported: 1) agenda has heen amended to iaclude reconsideratian of
<br />Itesolution fio. 78-163 vhich was netoed bq Mayor Swietyniawski.
<br />2} in Ordinance No. 79-1, Page 5, the Street Pisinten,ance Fund total should read
<br />$109,300.00.
<br />Mr. tailamosky amen;ded the Miriutes of Aecember 19, 1978, Page 3, Paragraph 3, Finapce
<br />Committee Report, to read "fax full-tine employees of the Rec Center, etc:"
<br />Mr. Boehmer amended the Mi.nutee of December 19, 1978, Page 3, Paragraph 2, Safety
<br />Committee Report, to read "Ag,ger L. Hyde of Hoff-WesCcra, etc," Miautes were approved
<br />as corrected.
<br />Mayor Swiezyn3owski reported: 1) at the Decembex Sth meetin$, Council voted to apprave
<br />the appointment of Ron Tallon to replgce Irwin Seidel on the Boaxd of Bvilding Code
<br />Appeals. 1'he appointment which Council approved was for the unexpired tesrm of Mr. Seidel
<br />ending Decemher 31, 1978, but it is also far a renewal €or a five year period fram the
<br />first of January, 1979. Would appreciate Gouncil's aCttcx? on this tonight.
<br />2) at the Board of Trustees' meeting Chis moxning, the Regional Translt Authc+ritq ex-
<br />tended the present contract between RTA and the Gity of North Olmsted for another sixty
<br />days. This is basically to keep negotiations going for that pexidd of tine.
<br />8afety Director Petre reported! 1) is pleased to announce that a finaacial goal that was
<br />established at the Rec Complex early in 1978 has been reached - a goal of $540,000.00.
<br />The final figures are almaet $503,000, as far as income st the Rec Center.
<br />2) Recreation Department also reports that the gymnastfe program has been a huge suecess
<br />this year durinv the Fa1Z and Wirater sseasons. Ttte numbers are increaeing and ggmnastics
<br />in North Olmsted has certa3alq been a very popular program.
<br />3) Safety Committee of Council catY expect a report autlining the various points which
<br />we wish ta take exception to, to the State, with regard to the new Jai1 Standards. This
<br />report wi11 be submitted at the next meeting of the Safety Commi.ttee.
<br />Mr. Beaty, Chairman of Inter-governmenfial Relations and Legislation Committee mnrad to
<br />approve the iriayor's appointueent af RAnald J. Ta1],on of Laurel Lane to a five year term
<br />on the Board of Building Code AppeaZs which wi.ll begin January lst of this year and
<br />end December 31, 1983, seconded by Mr. Nilamosky. Affirinative vote: Beaty, Boehmex,
<br />Logan, PeCrigac, Saringex, Sharpe, Wi}.amosky. Motion caxried.
<br />President Limpert asked Mr. Boehmer, Chairman of Public Safety, Health and Welfare
<br />Cammittee, to take i.nto committee a letter from Mr. Krulak o£ TJarreneviile Heights
