Liapert, Cauncilmea moehprer, I.ogan, McUy, <br />Petrigac, Saringer, Glilataeky, Woerpol. <br />Also present: Mayar Robert Swietyptovski, Lsw Diroctcr Michael Garasu, Finmte <br />Dlrector Robert Ervebm, Safety Director Eugena Fstr+e, <br />City Engineer Ratcald Zurawak3, Acting Clerk of Gttnacil Rsrtn Hvizda. <br />MeeCing wae called to order by Preaictent Lisgert at 8:05 P.M. <br />Presiclant Linpert invited nawbers of the audience to joia Miembars of Council in rt- <br />citing the Pledge of Allegiamce. <br />Minutee of May 8, 1980, were approved. <br />City Engineer Zurawski reported: 1) Serrice Director Corrigan is on vacatien thia <br />w"k. <br />2) 4hi.o Department of Trausportation has set up a preliminary review meeting fcrr the <br />Clague Road plaae which were ouNdtted the day after St. Patrick' e Day. Measti"a <br />will be held on June 3rd and SCh. <br />3) Final Report for the Facility Plaa Study has been subsittad bq Daltsm-tn?ltaa- <br />Newport and Engineering Departmut ia in the prac"a of reviewia$. Will sst up a <br />meeting in the near future With the Bnvirompexttal Control Committee of Couacil. <br />LaW Director Garesu reported: 1) !aith rsepect to the RTA suit which was to have <br />started on Monday, the Judge called an lsat Fridaq and indicated that becsuse of his <br />docket he was postponing the case indefi.nitely. <br />2) With regard to the case of Nolaa vs the Board of Zoning Appasale (Frieads thurch), <br />Law Director filed a motion to dtsmiaa t'#st appeal. There is case lsw to the <br />effect that if t,hey take it from the Bourd of 2cming Appeals aud aot the Couacil, <br />the court lacks juriauictioa and the matter should be dismissed. <br />Safety Director Petre reported: 1) Has been working wiih the Fire Depwrtme:nt Co up- <br />date the Fire Prevention Code aad will praaeut saw to Council upon completim. <br />2) Comwnded Jerrq Conte and complex staff far an outstandiag job with resgect to <br />the summer program xegistrations which are up agai.n this qear. <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman 8nvironmeatal Coatrol Canmittee reportedz 1) Ccrmittae aet <br />May 12th with all nem'bera present as well as Service Director Carxigm, aaul <br />Mr. Ziagan repreeenting Big 0. Commeittee discussed and viexed ttae ttee at Big 0 <br />which ttieq wish to reaove. Thraa tree eervice companies have racawmwmWd rewvasl <br />of the tree aad only one thought it might be eaved. Committee xecomwnds that the <br />tree be rewv9ed and a letter to that effect be written to Big 0, stipulating that <br />vhen the pole sign is erected that evergreens be plantsd around ths baase of tihe gole <br />in kespiag w3th the rest of the landscaping. Mrs. Petrigac further recommends that <br />this letter uot be sent until Big 0 has clesned up their back prnperty alottg <br />Mi21 Road. Mrs. Petrigac maved Council approve the re.moval of the large mrtple iu <br />front of Big 0, provided evergreens are glanted arouad the baae of the gola sigs, <br />in kseping with the rest of the landscaping, secoaded bq Mr. Wasrpel. Affirvrstive <br />vote: Boohmer, Logan, McKap, Pstrigac, Sari.nger, Wilamaskp, Wasrpol. Motic>n carried. <br />2) Committee a18o discussed tree p1antiaS program.
