CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION No. ~a ~-'~ <br />By ~ ~1~'° __._ <br />---~~ <br />RESOLUTION COMA~IENDING THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF <br />CLARENCE J. OVIATT, SOLICITOR., .AND GEORGE H. <br />PORTER,. III, COUNCILMAN, VSIHOSE TERMS OF OFFICE <br />EXPIRED DECEMBER 31, 1961, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, on December 31, 19b1, Clarence J. Oviatt, <br />Solicitor from January 1, 1958 to December 31, 1961, and Mayor in <br />1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953, and Councilman George H. Porter, III, <br />Councilman during 1957 and for the regular term of 19b0 and 19b1, <br />and former member of the Civil Service Commission, completed their <br />respective terms of office; and <br />WHEREAS, the period of their service was during a <br />time of rapid growth of the City of North Olmsted when new and <br />serious problems arose which demanded much more of it's officials <br />than was formerly the case and required that they gyve unstinting-, <br />ly of their time, judgment, skill and experience; and <br />WHEREAS, such valuable contributions to the ad- <br />vancement and betterment of the community should be recognized <br />with an expression of genuine gratitude both by the officials of <br />the City and its citizens and such acknowledgement made a part <br />of the formal records of this City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THB COU~~tCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section_ls That the minutes of this council show the <br />gratitude and appreciations of the citizens of the City of North <br />Olmsted, its administrative officers and the members of this <br />council to Clarence J. Oviatt and George H. Porter, III for their <br />respective years of devoted public service to the City of North <br />Olmsted and that the clerk of council be and is hereby directed <br />to send to both of these public servants herein named a copy of <br />this resolution. <br />Section 2z This resolution is declared to be an emergency <br />measure~or the preservation of the public welfare of the City <br />of North Ulmsted and further by virtue of the necessity of for- <br />warding to those public officials herein named a copy of this <br />resolution as soon as possible. <br />Section 3s Wherefore, this resolution shall take immedia <br />effect~rom and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest <br />period allowed by law. <br />PASSED : ,~,~ F' <br />ATTE T• <br />P <br />Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: ~ <br />~~~~ ,`, X f Y;r <br />es <br />nci <br />Ma or <br />
