S AND BONYES FORS~.~: Every service ccnneetion fr~m 1/2 inch to 1 inch inclusive, shall be provided with a stop cock; and every service connection ewer I inch shell be provided with a stop valve. Each step cock will be plaeed within an iron box extending frc~the same to fha surface of the sidewalk or lawn. Stop valves on the lar~er connections may be placed in roadwata and be pro- vided with adjustable valve boxes, at the option of the Water Department. The top of this wrench shall be formed like the top cf the stop cock, and ~he rod on such wrench shall work in a guide inmnediately below its top or handle. RULE 48 - STOP COCK BOXES: In cases where stop cock boxes and street wmshers are set imto the flagging or pavement of the sidewalk, the stones shallbe neatly and accurately out, end the top of the boxes set evem with the surface'of the pavememt cr~.flaggimg. Im all cases they shall be set flush with the surface of the sidewalk cr lawn. If from any cause.the s~cp cock box or other fixture is above or below the sur- face cf the sidewalk or lawn, it shall be brought to the surface of same a~ the expense of the cema~mer. ~U~ 49 - SETTII~G OF STOP COCK BOXESt Stop cook boxes m~st be set truly vertical and the plug in top cf box must be screwed in tightly by the plumber or persom setting the tax. In backfilling, the earth around the boxes must be thoroughly tamped~
