Thmt Ordinance No. 4060 is hereby amended and supplemented by <br />the enactment of a mew sect~ton to ~e ~,~bered and read aa follows: <br /> <br /> "Sect~ ~9~2 Weighing of vehicle and lead required, ruben; removal <br /> of exces~ lead. <br /> (a) A~F police officer having r~ason to believe that the weight of <br /> & versicle and lead is u~lawful is authorized to require the griver to <br /> stop and aut~i% %o a weighing of the same eithe~ by ~eane of portable <br /> or etatiommry scales and ~ay require that ~uch vehicle be driven to <br /> the nearest public ~cales. <br /> (b) ~naver euch officer u~on weighing a vehicle and Icad, as above <br /> p~ovided, determines that the weight is unlawful, such officer ~ay <br /> require the driver to stop the vehicle in a suitable ~laoe aad reaaia <br /> standing until ~ucB portion of the Icad is removed as ~a~ Be necessar~ <br /> to reduce the gross weight of such vehicle to auch li~it as permitted <br /> under this act," <br /> <br /> Section 4, This ordinance is hereby g~clared t~ ~e an emergency ~eaeure for <br />the reasons eta~d in the preamble hereof and, provided it receives the affirma- <br />tive vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and Be in force ~=m~dia~e!y upon its adoption a_~. approval by the Mayor~ and <br />original Section ~9 (a) shell be, and is hereby, repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted, .
