- 21 - <br /> <br />la~ps or auxiliary driving lamps are lighted, except where separate lighting systems <br />are provided for trailers for the p~rpose of illuminating such registration plate° <br /> <br /> Section 82. (a) Every new motor vehicle hereafter sold and operated on a <br />street, other than a commercial tractor, to which a trailer or semi-trailer is at- <br />tached shall carry at the rear, either as a part of the tail lamps or separately, two <br />red reflectors meeting the requirements of this section, except that vehicles of the <br />type mentioned in Section 83 shall be equipped with reflectors as required in those <br />sections applicable thereto. <br /> <br /> (b) Every such reflector shall be of ~uch size and characteristics and so <br />maintained as to be visible at night from all distances within three hundred feet to <br />fifty feet from such vehicle, except that visibility from a greater distance is <br />hereinafter required of reflectors on certain types of vehicles when directly in front <br />of a motor vehicle displaying lawfully lighted head lamps as provided in Section 90 <br />hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 83o Busses, trackless trolleys, trucks, commercial tractors, trailers, <br />semi-trailers and pole trailers when operated upon any street shall be equipped with <br />clearance, marker lamps, reflectors and stop lights as required by the regulations <br />promulgated by the Director of Highways.of the State of Ohio relating theretO. <br /> <br /> Section 84o Whenever motor and other vehicles are operated in combination <br />dttring the time that lights are required, any lamp, except ta&l lamps, need not be <br />lighted which by reason of its location on a vehicle of the combination would be <br />obscured by another vehicle of the combination but this shall not affect the require- <br />men%s that lighted clearance lamps be displayed on the front of the foremost vehicle <br />required to have clearance lamps er that all lights required on the rear of the <br />rearmost vehicle of any combination shall be lighted. <br /> <br /> Section 85. Whenever the load upon any vehicle extends to the rear four feet <br />or more beyond the bed or body of such vehicle there shall be displayed at the extreme <br />rear end of the load, at the times specified in Section 79 hereof: a red light or <br />lantern plainly visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet to the side~ and <br />rear. The red light or lantern required under this section shall be in addition to <br />the red rear light required upon every vehicle. At any other time there shall be <br />displayed at the extreme rear end of such load a red flag or cloth not less than <br />sixteen inches square. <br /> <br /> Section 86. Except in case of an emergency, whenever e vehicle is parked or <br />stopped upon a street open to traffic or shoulder adjacent thereto, whether attended <br />or unattended dttring the times mentioned in Section 79, such vehicle shall be equipped <br />with one or more lamps which shall exhibit a white light on the street side visible <br />from a distance of five hundred feet to the front of such vehicle, and a red light <br />visible from a distance of five hundred feet to the rear, provided however, no lights <br />need be displayed upon any vehicle where there is sufficient light to reveal any <br />person or substantial object within a distance of five hundred feet upon such street. <br />Any lighted head lamps upon a parked vehicle shall be depressed or dimmed. This <br />section shall not affect the requirements of Section 102 of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 87= All vehicles including animal-drawn vehicles and including those <br />referred to in Section 79 (c) not hereinbefore specifically required to be equipped <br />with l~ps, shall at the time and under the circumstances specified in Section 79 <br />hereof display at least one lighted lamp or lantern er~hibiting a white light visible <br />from a distance of approximately five hundred feet to the front of such vehicle and <br />with a l~ap or lantern exhibiting a red light visible from a distance of approximately <br />five hundred feet to the rear. <br /> <br /> Section 88. (a) Any motor vehicle may be equiPPed with not to exceed one <br />spot lamp and every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used upon approaching <br />another vehicle that no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam will be directed <br />to the left of the prolongation of the extreme left side of the vehicle nor more than <br />one hundred feet ahead of the vehicle. <br /> <br /> (b) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with 9ct to exceed three auxiliary <br /> driving lamps mounted on the front of the vehicle.
