29 <br /> <br /> Section 109-6o VIOLATIONS. It shall be unlawful and a violation of the pro- <br />visions of this ordinance for any person: <br /> <br /> (a) To cause, allow, permit or s~ffer any vehicle registered in the name of, <br />or operated by such person to be parked overtime, or beyond the perigd of legal park- <br />ing time established for any parking meter zone asherein described, or to deposit in any <br />parking meter any coin for the purpose of parking beyond the maximum legal parking <br />time for the particular parking meter zone. <br /> <br /> (b) To permit any vehicle to remain or be placed in any parking space adjacent <br />to any parking meter while said meter is displaying a signal indicating that the ve- <br />hicle occupying such parking space has already been parked beyond the period pre- <br />scribed for such parking spaceo <br /> <br /> ~c) To park any vehicle across any line or marking of a parking meter space <br />or in such position that the vehicle shall not be entirely within the area designated <br />by such lines or markings. <br /> <br /> (d) To deface, injure, tamper with, open or willfully b~eak, destroy, or im- <br />pair the usefulness of any parking meter installed under the provisions of this <br />ordinance. <br /> <br /> (e) To deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking meter any slugs, device <br />or metal substance, or other substitute for lawful coins. <br /> <br /> Section 109-7. COLTF. CTIONSo I~ shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to <br />designate some member or members of the Police Depsrtment to make regular collections <br />of the money deposited in said meters and it shall be the duty of such persons so <br />designated to remove from the parking meters the sealed containers therein containing <br />the coins so deposited in said meters and to deliver such sealed containers, with the <br />seals un~oken, to the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood to break the <br />seals, count and deposit such funds. <br /> <br /> Section 109-8~ USE OF FU~DS, The coins deposited in parking w. eters are required <br />and shall be used to defray the expense of proper regulation of traffic upon the <br />~blic streets of the City of Lakewood; to provide for the cost of supervision~ reg- <br />~ulation and control of the parking of vehicles in parking meter zones; to cover the <br />cost of leasing, purchase, supervision, proteotioh, inspection, installation, opera- <br />tion, maintenance, control and use of parking meters; and to cover the cost of ac- <br />quiring and devloping off-street parking areas. <br /> <br /> Section 109-9. P~wSEHVATION OF POWEP~$e Nothing in this ordinance shall be con- <br />strued as prohibiting the City of Lakewood from providing for bus stops, for taxicab <br />stands and other matters of similar nature, including the loading or unloading of <br />trucks~ vans, or other commercial vehicles. <br /> <br /> Section lO9-10. EqlFORCW.~.NT~ It shall be the duty of the Division of Police <br />to enforce the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section lO9-11. PENALTY. (a) Any person who shall violate any of the provisions <br />of Sections 109-2 to 10~-7, inclusive, of this ordinance except for illegal perking <br />shall upon conviction, be deemed guilty of ~u offense and fined not to exceed Fifty <br />Dollars ($50o00), or 5m~prisonment for not'to exceed thirty (30) days, or both. <br /> <br /> (b) Any person who shall cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered <br />in his name, or any vehicle in his possession or ~uder his control, to be parked or <br />to remain parked in violation of the provisions of Sections 109-2 to 109-7, iucluslve, <br />of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and fined not to exceed Five <br />Oollars <br /> <br /> Section 110, !taball be a misdemeanor for any person to violate any of the <br />provisions of this ordinance~ <br /> <br /> <br />
