( . 0 <br />- 2 - <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 29 of Article XIV <br />of the Charter of the City of Lakewood, and in addition to <br />the taxes provided therein, taxes may be levied without a <br />Vote of the people for the current operating expenses of the <br />City during the years 1960 to 1969, both inclusive, upon the <br />tax duplicates for the years 1959 to 1965, both inclusive, <br />at a rate not exceeding by more than three (3) mills, the <br />rate limitation for such purposes provided by Section 29 of <br />Article XIV of the Charter of the City or Lakewood. <br /> <br />This section shall become a part of the Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood, efrective as of the date of the certification of the <br />abstract of such election and adoption to the secretary of the <br />state by the board of elections according to law.· <br /> <br />To the left of said words, in boxes, with appropriate places <br />ror marking, shall appear the words .Yes" and· No. , and each voter shall <br />indicate his vote by placing an ·X" in the place so provided. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, directed to <br />give public notice of the time and place of holding such election by <br />publication of such notice at least 10 days prior to the day of such <br />election, in a newspaper of general circulation in said City. <br /> <br />Section 4. That the Clerk of Council be, and he is hereby, <br />directed to mail a copy of the proposed amendment to the Charter to <br />each elector whose name appears upon the registration books or the last <br />regular or general election held in such City, at least 30 days before <br />the date of such election. <br /> <br />Section 5. That the Clerk of Council be, and he is hereby, <br />directed to certify a copy of this ordinance to the board of elections <br />of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. <br /> <br />Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted: February 16. 1959 <br />Thomas C.
