% <br /> <br />-14- <br /> <br />A satis!factory recirculating system for the pool <br />shall be installed consisting of filters, circulating <br />pumps, float valve ~ontrol on water supply, hair <br />and li~t catcher, piping connections to inlets and <br />outlets!; and all other necessary fixtures and <br />connections. <br /> <br />Ail equipment must be readily accessible and every <br />pool shall be provided with necessary equipment for <br />the measurement of acidity or alkalinity and for <br />residu&l determinations. <br />(g) Indicating, Recording, Totalizing Instruments, Etc. <br />When necessary, in the opinion of the Commissioner of <br />Health, indicating, recording, totalizing instruments, <br />flow meters or indicators and pressure gauges shall <br />be installed at such points as may be designated by the <br />Commissioner of Health. <br /> <br />(h) Hair and Lint Catcher. The pump suction line of <br />the recirculating system shall be provided with a <br />hair and lint catcher. <br />(i) HoSe. Hose connections and hose must be of ample <br />size and pressure to clean all of the pool area. <br />(j) Towers and Steps. Steps and ladders must be made <br />of an impervious, corrosion-resistant material, with <br />a uniform rise not to exceed twelve (12) inches. The <br />decks of diving towers which are over one (1) meter <br />high shall be protected with suitable railings to <br />prevent falling except into the water. <br />(k) Lighting. ~ere a family pool is used during the <br />hours of darkness illumination of the pool surface <br />and for a distance of ten (10) feet from the edge of <br />the pool shall be maintained between the limits of <br />two and five (2 and 5) foot candles of light (approx- <br />imately one-half (½) watt per square foot of the area <br />required to be illuminated, where lights are placed <br />not over ten (10) feet above and within the limits <br />of the iarea). All lighting and wiring shall be <br />in accordance with the National Electrical Code <br />and all fixtures and equipment shall be "UL" approved. <br /> <br />329.134 Requirements As to Bathers. <br /> <br />(a) Bathers With Communicable Diseases. No person having <br />any communicable skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, <br />nasal or ear discharges, or any other communicable disease, <br />shall use Or be permitted to use any swimming pool. The person <br />in charge ~f any swimming pool shall exclude therefrom any <br />person suspected of having any such ailment. <br /> <br />329.135 Cleanliness of Pool and Environs. <br /> <br />(a) Daily Cleansing. At least once each day, when a family <br />swimming pool is in use, the bottom of each swimming pool shall <br />be completely cleansed and all sediment and other foreign <br />matter removed by vacuum cleaner or other equally efficient <br />means, and if an over-flow trough is provided it'shall be <br />completely cleaned and all sediment and foreign matter removed <br />therefrom. <br />(b) Weekly Cleansing. At least once each seven days the <br />sides of each family swimming pool and the overflow trough <br />shall be thoroughly scrubbed and cleaned; each filter <br />shall be thoroughly back-washed and each hair and lint <br />catcher completely emptied and thoroughly cleaned. <br /> <br /> <br />
