-15- <br /> <br />(c) General Requirements. All swimming pool facilities, <br />including grounds used Sn connection therewith shall be <br />keptclean and in a sanitary condition and maintained <br />free from garbage, trash and other refuse. <br /> <br />329.136 Operation and Maintenance. <br /> <br />Chlorination shall be accomplished in such manner that <br />the amount of excess of residual chlorine in all parts of <br />the pool at all times when the pool is in use shall not <br />b~ less than four tenths (.4)parts per million, or more <br />than one (1) part per million. Where a gas chlorinator <br />is used it shall be installed in an enclosure other than <br />a dwelling or attached garage and vented to the outside <br />by louvres or forced ventilation, subject to the approval <br />of the Commissioner of Health. <br /> <br />329.137 Quality of Water. <br /> <br />The bacterial quality of water in the pool shall be maintained <br />so that no two successive samples nor more than fifteen per <br />cent (15%) of any number of successive samples shall contain <br />more than two hundred (200) bacteria per cubic centimeter, <br />nor show positive confirmed results for coliaerogenes. <br /> <br /> The Commissioner of Health may require samples to be <br />taken and submitted for test whenever he considers it <br />necessary for the safe operation of any pool. <br /> <br />329.138 Operating Personnel. <br /> <br />Each family swimming pool shall be operated under the <br />supervision of a responsible adult, capable of making <br />field tests such as residual chlorine, and thoroughly <br />familiar with the operation of all mechanical appurtenances <br />of the pool. Any such operator shall, upon request, demonstrate <br />to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Health, his ability <br />to perfor~ his required duties. <br /> <br />..W~D. ING POOLS <br /> <br />329.139 Public ~ding Pools. <br /> <br />(a) Material. The water containing surface of a public <br />wading pool shall be light in color, impervious and <br />~rovide a tight tank. <br /> b) Water Supply. Water for the pool shall be from the <br />city water supply. <br />(c) Walks. Each pool shall be provided with a hard <br />surfaced walk at least four (4) feet in width completely <br />surrounding the pool and drained away from the pool, except <br />where a fence or wall is placed closer to the pool than <br />four (4) feet, the width of the walk may be proportionately <br />reduced. <br />(d) Cleanliness of Pool and Environs. Each pool shall be <br />provided with a complete water recirculating.syste/~ consisting <br />of circulating pumps, float valve control on water supply, <br />hair and lint catcher, chlorinator and piping connections <br />to inlets and outlets; except that no recirculating system <br />need be provided when a public waning pool is drained and <br />thoroughly cleaned at least once e~ery second day of actual use. <br /> <br /> <br />
