52-59 Amend 1121.01, .02 & .04 Zoning - bldg height

An ordinance to amend Sections ll21.01, ll21.02 and ll21.04 of the Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, to clarify height restrictions in a H1 height district~ to increase from 50 to 60 feet the height of a building permitted in a H2 height district and to increase from 100 to l~O feet the height of a building permitted in a H4 height district. BE IT ORDAINED BY TH~ COUNCIL OF T'!f~ CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section t. That Section 1121.01 of the Zening Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading: "ll21,O1 H1 District In a class H1 district no building shall be erected to a height in excess of two and one-half (2-1/2) stories or in excess of thirty-five (35) feet except that in the case of a church, school or library building such limit shall be Forty (40) feet." shall be and is hereby ~.ended to read as follows: 112!.O1 HI District. In a class H1 District no one or two-family dwelling shall be erected to a height in excess of two and one-half (2-1/2) stories, and no apartment house shall be erected to a height in excess of thirty-Five (35) feet, and no church, school or library building shall be erected to a height in excess of forty (40) feet. In this height district, no portion of a garage shall exceed I story in height above grade. Section 2. That section ll21.02 of the Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading. "ll21.02 H2 District. In a class H2 district no building shall be erected to a height in excess of fifty (50) feet, nor shall the heigh~ of any portion of the building exceed one and one-half times the distance of such portion of the building from the center line of the street, provided that in the case of a corner building the height permitted on either street may be carried back sixty (60) feet along the other street." shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: 1121.02 H2 District. In a class H2 Height District no building shall be erect- ed to a height in excess of sixty (60) feet, nor shall the height of any portion of the building exceed the dis- tance of such portion of the building from the center line of the street, provided that in the case of a corner build- lng the greater hemcht permmtted on either street may be carried back sixty (60) feet along the other street. In this height district, no portion of a garage shall exceed i story in height above grade.
