Drane <br />Company for the purpose of codifying, printing and.binding all <br />ordinances of the City of Lakewood of a general and permanent <br />nature. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, This Council determines it necessary to <br />codify all ordinances of the City of J;.akewood of a general and <br />permanent nature, and, <br /> <br />~EREAS, 'l'his Council determines it necessary to <br />employ the services of the WalterH. Drane Company tocompléte <br />such codifying, printing and binding, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public <br />peace, property, health and safety and for the usual dêtily <br />operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OF <br /> <br />CITY <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />LA!<EWOOD, <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to employ, by contract, the firm of <br />The Walter H. Drane Company, for the purpose of codifying, <br />printing and binding all ordinancæof the City of Lakewood of <br />a general and permanent nature, said contract shall provide <br />for a fee of $7,500.00 and shall be in substantially the <br />following form: <br /> <br />CODIFICATION AGREEMENT <br /> <br />An Agreement dated May 5, 1966, between the City of Lakewood, <br />Ohio, a municipal corporation (hereinafter called the CITY)., <br />and the Walter H. Drane Company, an Ohio corporation (herein- <br />after called the CONTRACTOR), in consideration of mutually <br />agreed upon promises and conditions set forth herein. <br /> <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall codify into a loose-leaf book form, <br />called the Codified Ordinances, all ordinances of a general <br />and permanent nature, and in providing such service agrees to: <br /> <br />Examine and review the 1952 Codified Ordinances and <br />all subsequent ordinances of the CITY to ascertain <br />material suitable for codification. <br /> <br />copies for manuscript <br /> <br />1- <br /> <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Photoprint any material when <br />purposes are unavailable. <br /> <br />Evaluate all selected material for provisions which <br />appear to be obsolete, repealed specifically or by <br />implication, ambiguous, vague or inapplicable, or in <br />conflict with other law (State statute, Charter or <br />other ordinance provisions and court decisions) and <br />refer questions on the same to the Director of Law <br />for a decision. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Periodically meet with the Director of Law and other <br />City officials to review the manuscript and to obtain <br />approval thereof.
