-3- <br /> <br />or exceed forty-four(44) hours of regular time pay <br />in any week; or (c) an employee sh~ll lose time by <br />reason of a disciplinary lay-off, or shall wilfully <br />fail or refuse to perform his regular duties, or be <br />absent from his place of employment, except for illness <br />incapacitating him from work and evidenced in the <br />manner hereinafter specified in the provision hereof <br />for sick leave° Nothing herein contained shall be <br />construed to limit the power of the City to lay-off, <br />suspend, or discharge any employee, or to terminate <br />any employment, f or disciplinary reasons or because <br />of lack of work or shortage of available funds duly <br />appropriated for paymen~ of wages." <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 143.02 Guaranteed Work Week <br /> <br />Full time permanent hourly employees, if available <br />and willing to work, shall be and hereby are guaranteed <br />employment for a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, <br />and in fulfillment of such guarantee will be paid a <br />minimum regular time wage equal to forty (40) hours <br />regular time work. This provision shall not apply <br />where (a) the hours worked, or a compensated holiday, <br />or a compensated vacation, or a compensated sick leave, <br />or any two or more of such matters in combination <br />amount to forty (40) or more hours in actual time in <br />any week; (b) regular time pay plus overtime pay equal <br />or exceed forty (40) hours of regular time pay in any <br />week; or (c) an employee shall lose time by reason of <br />a disciplinary lay-off, or shall wilfully fail or <br />refuse to perform his regular duties, or be absent from <br />his place of employment, except for illness incapacitat- <br />ing him from work and evidenced in the manner herein- <br />after specified in the provision hereof for sick leave. <br />Nothing herein contained shall be construed to limit the <br />power of the City to lay-off, suspend, or discharge any <br />employee, or to terminate any employment, for disci- <br />plinary reasons or because of lack of work or shortage <br />of available funds duly appropriated for payment of <br />wages. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That Section 143.03 of the <br />Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood, now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 143.03 Overtime <br /> <br />FULL TIME hourly employees shall be compensated <br />at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times regular <br />time for work performed (a) in any twenty-four (24) <br />consecutive hour period in excess of the work day; <br />(b) in any week in excess of the work week; (c) on <br />Saturday afternoon or on Sunday; or (d) on any <br />holiday as hereinafter defined. Overtime paid for <br />labor performed on a compensated holiday shall be in <br />addition to the regular time compensation for such <br />holiday, but holiday hours so compensated shall not <br />again be used in any other overtime computations. <br /> <br /> <br />
