ORDINANCE NO. 70-67 BY: Cain, Gaydos, Kelley, <br /> Usher, Ward, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN ES]ERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting a new Chapter 17 <br />thereof entitled Platting and Subdividing, relating to the <br />planning, subdividing, re-subdividing and development of land <br />within the City of Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council is desirous of providing for the <br />orderly development and redevelopment of land, the accurate <br />surveying of land and preparing and recording of plats, safe <br />and convenient vehicular and pedestrian travel and the <br />coordination of land development, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal depart- <br />ment; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> Section 1. That there be added to the Codified Ordinances <br />the City of Lakewood: <br /> <br />Section 1701.01 .Definitions <br /> <br />(a) "SUBDIVISION" means a division of any parcel of <br />land, shown as a unit or as contiguous units in the <br />current records of the County Recorder, into two or <br />more'lots, parcels, sites or other divisions of land <br />for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of <br />transfer of ownership or intended to be recorded as <br />a plat. The words "allotment" and "subdivision" are <br />used synonymously herein. <br /> <br />(b) ".LOT" and "PARCEL" mean a division of land <br />separated from other divisions by description on <br />a recorded subdivision plat, recorded survey map <br />or by metes and bounds for the~purposes of sale, <br />lease or separate use. <br /> <br />(c) "OWNER"means any individual, company, corpora- <br />tion, · firm, association, trustee or any other legal <br />entity in whom or which is vested the legal title to <br />the lands proposed to be allotted or subdivided. <br /> <br />(d) "PRELIMINARY PLAN" means a drawing for the purpose <br />of study of a proposed subdivision or allotment and <br />which, if approved, permits proceeding with the pre- <br />paration of the final plat. <br /> <br />(e) "FINAL PLAT"means the final map of all or a <br />portion of a subdivision or allotment and which, <br />if approved, m~ay be recorded. <br /> <br /> <br />
