ORDINANCE NO. 14~71 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br />Wendling, Gaydos, Graber, Huffman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 149.15 <br />of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of Lakewood relating to payment by the City of Lakewood <br />of certain sums toward employees' hospitalization coverage, <br />commencing March 1, 1971. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council deems it to be in the best <br />interest of the City to provide for this participation in the <br />medical and hospital protectzon plans of the City employees, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE- <br />WOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 149.15 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 149.15 City's share of Hospitalization Insurance. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />For the purposes of this section, a City employee <br />shall be defined as any employee of Lakewood Munici- <br />pal Court and any employee of the City of Lakewood, <br />except members of Council, employees of Lakewood <br />Hospital, temporary employees, seasonal employees, <br />school guards, and public works inspectors. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay <br />out of City funds up to thirty dollars ($30.00) per <br />month toward hospitalization coverage of each member <br />of the Divisions of Police and Fire, payable monthly <br />or semi-annually, at the discretion of the Director <br />of Finance. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay <br />out of City funds up to thirty-three dollars and <br />four cents ($33.04) per month toward hospital coverage <br />of ali. other City employees, commencing when such <br />employees have completed sixty (60) days of continu- <br />ous service for the City, payable monthly or semi- <br />annually, at the discretion of the Director of Finance. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />The payment by the City shall be from the following <br />funds: <br /> (1) Seventy-five percent from the General Fund. <br />(2) Thirteen percent from the Street Construction, <br /> Maintenance and Repair Fund. <br /> {3) Five percent from the Sewage Disposal Operating <br /> Fund. <br /> (4) Si¥ [~ercent from the Water Deoartment Fund. <br /> (5) One percent from the Parking Meter Fund. <br /> <br />'be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, <br /> <br /> <br />
