ORDINANCE NO. 68-74 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, <br /> Brockman, Chinnock <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 149.15 of the Administrative Code <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to payment by the City of <br />Lakewood of certain sums toward employee hospitalimation coverage commencing August <br />12, 1974. <br /> ~' WHEREAS, .this Council determines it to be in the best interest of the City <br />to provide for continued participation in the medical and hospitalization protection <br />plans of City employees, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That Section 149.15 of the Administrative Code of the Codified <br /> Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.15 CITY'S SHARE OF HOSPITALIZATION INSURANCE <br /> <br />(a) For the purposes of this section, a City employee shall be defined <br /> as any employee of Lakewood Municipal Court and any employee of the <br /> City of Lakewood who has completed sixty days of continuous service <br /> for the City, but shall exclude members of Council, employees of <br /> Lakewood Hospital, temporary employees, seasonal employees, school <br /> guards, and public works inspectors. <br /> <br /> (b) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay out of City funds <br /> up to $52.33 per month toward hospitalization coverage for each City <br /> employee payable monthly or semiannually at the discretion of the <br /> Director of Finance. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Such payment by the City shall be made proportionately from the <br />following funds except that the actual cost of premiums for employees <br />of the Waste Water Treatment Plant shall be paid from the Waste Water <br />Treatment Fund: <br /> <br />(1) General Fund <br />(2) Street Construction, Maintenance and Repair Fund <br />(3) Water Fund <br />(4) Parking Meter Fund <br />(5) Parking Garage Fund <br /> <br />83.5% <br />10.2% <br />4.9% <br />.7% <br />.7% <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.15 CITY'S SHARE OF HOSPITALIZATION INSURANCE <br /> <br />(a) For the purposes of this section, a City employee shall be defined <br /> as any employee of Lakewood Municipal Court and any employee.~,of the <br /> City of Lakewood who has completed sixty days of continuous service <br /> forthe City, but shall exclude members of Council, employees of <br /> Lakewood Hospital, temporary employees, seasonal employees, school <br /> guards, and public works inspectors. <br /> <br />(b) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay out of City funds <br /> up to $52.33 per month toward hospitalization coverage for each member <br /> of the Division of Fire and the Division of Police, payable monthly <br /> or semiannually at the discretion of the Director of Finance~ to apply <br /> on actual premium, or in caSK where the member is not enrolled in the <br /> City hospitalization plan. <br /> <br /> (c) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay out of City funds <br /> up to $54.51 per month toward hospitalization coverage for all other <br /> City employees, payable monthly or semiannually at the discretion of <br /> the Director of Finance, to apply on actual premium, or in cash where <br /> the employee is not enrolled in the City hospitalization plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
