ORDINANCE NO. 56-76 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 353.03 and subparagraph (r) <br />of Section 351.01 of the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood to establish a limited time period for the parking of motor vehicles <br />in designated areas in the municipal parking garages and to provide for the <br />enforcement of said regulation. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the establishment of a limited time period for the parking <br />of motor vehicles in certain designated areas in the municipal parking garages <br />provides for the welfare and convenience of the general public, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to ~nforCe such parking <br />regulation in the municipal parking garages and to provide a penalty for the <br />violation thereof, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual <br />daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 353.03 of the Traffic Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />353.03 PARKING TIME LIMITS <br /> <br />Parking or standing a vehicle in the spaces designated within <br />off-street parking areas shall be lawful for any period upon the <br />deposit of the coin or coins required for legal parking time and <br />in a sufficient amount so as to prohibit any vehicle so parked <br />from being parked overtime in such space, as such time and amount <br />are disclosed on the meter installed-for the control of such <br />space. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed <br />to establish the location and time limit for each individual <br />parking meter which is installed for the control of each parking <br />space, and the amount of coin required to be deposited therein. <br /> <br />Parking meters shall be operated in the off-street parking areas <br />every day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., except <br />Sundays and holidays as specified in Section 355.05 (b). <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />353.03 PARKING TIME LIMITS <br /> <br />Parking or standing a vehicle in the spaces designated within <br />off-street parking areas shall be lawful for any period as <br />designated by appropriate signs in designated areas of the <br />municipal parking garages or upon the deposit of the coin or <br />coins required for legal parking time and in a sufficient <br />amount, so as to prohibit any vehicle so parked from being <br />parked overtime in such space, as such time and amount are <br />disclosed on the meter installed for the control of such <br />space. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed <br />to establish the location and time limit for designated areas <br />in the municipal parking garages and for each individual parking <br />meter which is installed for the control of each parking space, <br />and the amount of coin required to be deposited therein. <br /> <br />Parking meters shall be operated in the off-street parking <br />areas every day between the hours Of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. <br />except Sundays and holidays as specified in Section 355.05 (b). <br /> <br /> <br />
