Brockman, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Sinagra, Usher <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE providing for the sale of the Hopkins Avenue <br />Fire Station located on Hopkins Avenue between Detroit Avenue ~nd Franklin <br />Boulevard in the City oF Lakewood, Ohio. ~. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the adoption of Ordinance 28-76 on May 3, 1976 this <br />Council determined that the Hopkins Avenue Fire Station located on Hopkins <br />Avenue between Detroit Avenue and Franklin Boulevard should be sold and that <br />such sale would be in the best interest of this.City, and <br /> <br /> W]~REAS, by said Ordinance this Council authorized the Mayor to <br />advertise for bids for the sale of said Hopkins Avenue Fire Station, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor did advertise for bids for the sale of said <br />property and has advised this Council that only two bids were received as <br />follows: (1) Great Lakes Shakespeare Association, Inc. in the amount of <br />$23,500, and (2) Twelve Step Center, Inc. in the amount of 323,000, and <br /> <br /> WHERE~AS, this Council has determined to a~cept the bid of the Great <br />Lakes Shakespeare Association, Inc. as the highest and best bid based upon not <br />only the monetary consideration but also the impact upon the existing character <br />of the neighborhood and the said proposed use is in the best interest of the <br />City, and <br /> <br /> W}~REAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is in the best interest of the City to sell the afore- <br />mentioned Hopkins Avenue Fire Station at the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. This Council hereby authorizes the sale off.the Hopkin~ <br />Avenue Fire Station, loCated on Hopkins Avenue between Detroit Avenue and <br />Franklin Boulevard in the City of Lakewood, to the Great Lakes Shakespeare <br />Association, Inc, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed t9 execute, <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood,~ a land contract for the sale of said <br />property which Land Installment Contract shall be substantiallY in the form <br />as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
