f) "To Rent'" ]ncl. udes to ].ease, to sublease, to let and otherwts~e

<br /> g) "Discriminatory Uousing Practice" means any act that is unlawful
<br />as designated by this Chapter.
<br />
<br /> ~ D~scriminatory Complaint Service" means that service established
<br />by this Chapter.
<br />
<br /> 515.04 - EXEMPTIONS.
<br />
<br /> The terms ard provisions of this Chapt'er shall not apply in the
<br />
<br />.~ following instances:
<br /> ~ a) To rental of housing accommodations in his personal residence
<br /> by the owner or occupier thereof when occupied by him as a bona fide
<br /> ~,esidence for himself and any members of his family forming~his household.
<br />
<br /> b) To the rental of housing accommodations in a building or struc~ure
<br /> or portion thereof containing living quarters occupied~, or intended to
<br /> occupied by no moYe 'than four individuals, four groups, or four familie~
<br /> living independently of each other and one of which is occupied ~y the
<br /> owner thereof as a bona flide residence for himself and any members of
<br /> his family forming a household.
<br />
<br /> c) To the sale of his personal residence by the owner unless
<br /> advertised in any manner or way and/or held or offered, by sale by a rea~[
<br /> estate broker, sa. lesman, or agent, or by any other person pursuant to
<br /> authorization of :the owner.
<br />
<br /> d) Nothing in this Chapter shall prohibit a r~ligious organization,
<br /> association, or society, or any non-profit institution or organization
<br /> operated, supervised or controlled by or in conjunction with a religious!
<br /> organization, association, or society from limiting the sale, rental, o~'
<br /> occupancy of dwellings which it owns or operates for other .than commere!.al
<br /> pnrpose to persons of the same religion, or from giving preference to
<br /> such persons, unless membership in such religion is restricted on account
<br /> of race, color, creed, sex, religious belief or national origin.
<br />
<br /> e) Nothing ~n this Chapter shall prohibit a pr~.vate club not in fac~
<br /> open to the public, which as an incident to its primary purpose or
<br /> purposes provides lodgings which it owns or operates for other ~han a
<br /> commercial purpose, from limiting the rental or occupancy of such
<br /> lodgings to its members or from giving preference to its members.
<br />
<br /> 5.!5.05- DISCRIMINATION IN THE SALE OR RENTAL OF HOUSING.
<br />
<br /> It shall be unlawful to recklessly:
<br />
<br /> a)~ ~efuse to sell, transfer, assign, rent, lease, sublease,
<br /> finance or otherwise deny a dwelling-to any person because of race, color,
<br /> creed, sex, religious belief, or national origin.
<br />
<br /> b) Discriminat~ against any person in the terms, conditions, or
<br /> privileges of Sale or rental of a dwelling, or in the provision of
<br /> services'or fac~[tties in connection therewith, because of race, color,
<br />,creed, sex, religious belief or national origin.
<br />
<br /> c) Make, print, pnbli~h or cause to be made, printed or published
<br /> any notice, statement, or advertisement, with respect to the sale or
<br /> rental of a dwelling that indicates any preference, limitation, or
<br /> discrimination based on race, color, creed, sex, religious belief or
<br /> national orig~n, or an intention to mak~ any such preference, limitation,
<br /> or discrimination.~
<br />
<br /> d). R~present to ani~ person because of race, color, creed,~sex,
<br /> leligious ~eli~f or national origin that any dwelling is not available for
<br /> inspection, sale or rental when such dwelling is in fact'so available.
<br />
<br /> e) Profit, to induce or attempt to induce any person to sell or rent
<br />any dwelling by representatives regarding the entry or prospective entry
<br />into the neighborhood of a person or persons of a particular race, color~~
<br />creed, sex, religious belief or national origin.
