Taxicabs employed on the hourly basis shall operate within the City <br /> upon the following schedule of rates; not less than $4.20 per'hour or <br /> fraction thereof for the first'hour, nor more than $6.00 per hour, <br /> provided that charges for use in excess of one hour shall be on the <br /> basis of one-sixth of an hour fractions of the rate charged for the <br />· 1st full hour. <br /> <br />be and the same are hereby amended ,to read as follow.s: <br /> 769.08 RATES OF FARE <br /> <br />(a) Metered Rates <br /> <br /> (1) For the first one sixth mile or fraction thereof $.80 <br /> (2) For each succeeding two-sevenths mile or fraction thereof $.20 <br /> (3) For each additionak passenger fo~ the entire trip $.25 <br /> (4) For each taxicab employed upon an hourly rate $6.00 per hour <br /> (5) In addition to the above rates, five cents ($.05) may be <br /> added for the first one-sixth mile or fraction thereof, for <br /> each five cent ($.05) increase in the cost of gasoline for <br /> taxicabs, above forty cents ($.40) per gallon. <br /> <br />For waiting time, as hereinafter defined, charges may be made at <br />the rate of not less than $4.50 per hour nor more than $6.00 per" <br />ihour~ Waiting time is deemed to include the time when the taxicab <br />is not in motion, beginning at the place of arrival to which it has <br />been called, or the time consumed while standing at the direction of <br />the passenger. No charge shall be made for time lost becaus~ of the <br />inefficiency of the taxicab or its operatoC, or for time consumed by <br />premature response to the passenger's order. <br /> <br /> (b) Hourly and Flat Rate <br /> <br />Taxicabs may accept employment whereby the fare is to be computed on <br />an hourly rental basis or upon a flat rate o~ one dollar and sixty <br />cents ($1.60) for any ride within the city.
