<br />A. The participants use cards, sheets or other devices that are divided Into
<br /> spaces arranged in horizontal, vertical or diagonal rows of spaces, with
<br /> each space, except free spaces, being designated by a single letter,
<br /> nmnbcr or s~nbol; by a combination of letters, numbers or symbols; by
<br /> a combination of a letter and a number, a letter and a symbol, or a
<br /> number and a symbol; or by any combination of letters, numbers and
<br /> symt×ds, with some or none of the spaces being designated as a free,
<br /> complimentary or. si,mf!ar space;
<br />
<br /> B. The particip:mts cover thc spaces on thc cards, sheets or devicc.q that
<br /> eorr~.spond to letters, numbers, symbols or c(m~binations of such that
<br /> arc announced by a bingo game operator or. othc~avisc transmitted to the
<br /> participants;
<br /> C. A bing;) game operator arn~ounces, or otherwise transmits to thc partici-
<br /> ~ p:mts, letters, numbers, symbols or any combination of such as set forth
<br /> in subsection (s)(2)A. hereof that appear on objects that a bingo game
<br /> operator selects by chance that correspond to one of the possible letters,
<br /> numbers, sy~nbols or combinations of such that can appear on the bingo
<br /> cards, sheets or devices;
<br /> D. The winner of the bingo game is any particip:mt who properly announces
<br /> that a predetermined and prc~umotmced pattern of spaces has been covered
<br /> oa a card, sheet or device being used by the participant-,
<br />(t) "Conduct" me,qns to back, promote, organize, manage, carry on or prepare for
<br /> the operation of a scheme or game of chance but does n,~t Includc any act performed
<br /> by a bingo game operator.
<br />(u) "Bingo game operator" means any person, except sc()urity pcrs(mncl, who performs
<br /> work or labor at the site of a bingo game inclu(ting, but ~ot limited to, collecting
<br /> monkey from Jarticipants, handing out bingo cards or objects to covet' spaces on
<br /> the bingo cards, selecting from a receptacle thc objects that contain the combina-
<br /> tion of letters mid numbers that appear on thc bingo cards, c:tlling out thc combi-
<br /> nations of letters and numbers, distributing prizes to thc winner of the bingo game
<br /> and serving refreshments.
<br />tv) "I'articipant" means ;u~y person who plays bingo by covering the spaces on a bingo
<br /> card that correspond to combinations of letters and numbers that are announced by
<br /> a bingo game operator.
<br />(w) "Bingo session" means a period, not to exceed five continuous hours, during which
<br /> a person conducts one or more bingo g:tmes.
<br />tx) "Gross receipts" means all money or assets, including admission fees, that aper-
<br /> son receives from a bingo session that thc person conducts without the deduction
<br /> of any amounts for prizes paid out (luring the session or for thc expenses of con-
<br /> ducting the bingo session.

<br />."Security personnel" includes m~ypcrson who either is a sheriff, deputy sheriff,
<br />marshM, deputy marshal, township const:d)le, or a police office'r of a munictpM
<br />co~ratlrm 0r has successfully complet~(I a l~:tce officer's training eom'se our-
<br />surest to ()bio H.C. 109.71 t.o [09.79 and who is hired to provide security for the
<br />premises on which a bingo gamo is conduced.
<br />'"Fo use gross receipts for a cMrlt~)le pu~ose" means that thc proceeds of the
<br />b~go game are used by, or given, donated or othe~lse trmmferred ~, ~y
<br />org~lzation that ts described ~ subsection 509(a)(1), (2) Or (3) of thc Internal
<br />Revenue Code ~d is either a gove~mental unit or ~ org~ization that is t~
<br />exempt under subsection 501(c)(3) of the ~rnal Revenue Code; that ~e proceeds
<br />of ~e bingo game nrc used by, or givep, donated or otherwise transferred ~'~'a
