1.329.11 <br /> <br /> (d) Supplementary Area and Location Standards. <br /> <br /> (1) Additional Sig__ns. In cases where the office or <br /> business building has an entrance froln the side <br /> street of a corner lot or has a back entrance from <br /> a parking lot open to the public, additional sign <br /> area equal to (25) percent of that permitted on the <br /> front of the building may be used over such entrance. <br /> <br /> (2) .S._~]o~j~ing Center Identification Si99s. In addition <br /> to 'the sign face area l)ermitted for each individual <br /> establishment one shopping center sign identifying <br /> the name and/or logo of a unified shol)ping area in <br /> the B2 or BR Districts may be permitted, subject <br /> to review and approval by the Board of Building <br /> Standards. Shol}ping center signs shall not exceed <br /> (qO) square feet in are and may be either ground <br /> or pole signs, subject to th~ regulations governing <br /> such signs. <br /> <br /> (3) Billboards, Portable Si(Ins and Roof Signs. Billboards, <br /> portable signs, and roof signs shall not be permitted <br /> in the B1, 132 and BR Distric.ts. <br /> <br /> (4) Special Signs.. Where innovative design is demonstrated, <br /> a building utilizing the building design itself as a <br /> means to identifY or advertise a produce o'r service <br /> may be permitted. The design and area of the'signage <br /> elements shall be subject to review and approval by <br /> the Board of Building Standards. Signs for <br /> gasoline service stations and theaters shall require <br /> review and approval by the Board of Building Standards. <br /> <br />SIGNS: INDUSTRIAL X DISTRICT. <br /> <br />Accessory signs in the Industrial X Distr. ict shall be'designed, erected, <br />altered, moved and maintained, in whole or in part, in accordance <br />with these regulations. The requirements of the Industrial District <br />shall be the same as the requirements of the Office,. Retail , and <br />Business-Residential Districts (Section 1329.10) except as otherwise <br />stated herein. ' <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Functional Typ. es Permitted. Develo'pment signs of a temporary <br />nature, directional signs, identification signs, and real <br />estate signs. .. <br /> <br />Structural Types Permitted. Ground, pole and wall s~igns. <br /> <br />Maximum Sign Face Area. The maximum sign face area of all <br />permanent signs permitted for each separate use occupying <br />a building or unit of a building shall be related to the <br />frontage of the building or unit thereof, as determined by <br />the following formula: <br /> <br />Maximum sign face area = W x 3 square feet, <br />except that the total in all cases shall not <br />exceed 100 square feet. <br /> <br />The elements of such formula being defined <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"~laximum sign face area" means the t<~tal <br />area of one surface of a permanent sign as <br />defined in Section 1329.04(a). <br /> <br />"U means the frontage o'F a building as <br />defined in Section 1329.04(b). <br /> <br /> <br />
