-2- <br /> <br />shall be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />769.08 RATES OF FARE. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Metered Rates. <br />(1) For the first one sixth mile or fraction thereof <br /> eighty cents (80¢). <br />(2) For each succeeding two-ninths mile or fraction <br /> thereof twenty cents (20¢). <br />(3) For each additional passenger for the entire trip <br /> twenty-five cents (25¢). <br />(4) For each taxicab employed upon an hourly rate <br /> eight dollars ($8.00) per hour. <br />(5) In addition to the above ra~es, five cents (5¢) <br /> may be added for the first one-sixth mile or <br /> fraction thereof, for each five cent (5~) increase <br /> in the cost of gasoline for taxicabs, above <br /> forty cents (40¢) per gal.lon. <br /> <br /> For waiting time, as hereinafter defined, charges may be made at <br />the rate of not less than four dollars and fifty cents ($4.50) per hour <br />nor more than eight dollars ($8.00) per hour. Waiting time is deemed to <br />include the time when the taxicab is not in motion, beginning at the <br />place of arrival to which it has been called, or the time consumed while <br />standing at the direction of the paSsenger. No.charge shall be made for <br />time lost because of the inefficiency of the taxicab or its operator, or <br />for time consumed by premature response to the passenger's order. <br /> <br /> (b) Hourly and Flat Rate. Taxicabs may accept emplo3~nent whereby <br />the fare is to be computed on an hourly rental basis or upon a flat rate of <br />one dollar and eight-five cents ($1.85) for any ride within the City. A <br />charge of twenty-five cents (25~) may be made for each additional passenger. <br /> <br /> Five cents (5¢) may be added to the flat rate of one dollar and eighty- <br />five cents ($1.85) for any ride within the City, for each five cent (5~) <br />increase in the cost of gasoline for taxicabs, above forty cents (40¢) per" <br />gallon. <br /> <br /> Taxicabs employed on the hourly basis shall operate within the City <br />upon the following schedule of rates; not less than fOur dollars and fifty <br />cents ($4.50) per hour or fraction thereof for the first hour, nor more than <br />eight dollars ($8.00) per hour, provided that charges for use in excess of <br />one hour shall be on the basis of one-sixth of an hour fractions of the rate <br />charged for the 1st full hour. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That it is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to.the passage of this ordinance were adopted <br />in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings <br />open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section <br />121.11 of the Ohio Revised COde. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and providing it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be. in force from and after the earliest <br />period allowed by law and existing paragraphs (a) and (b) Of Section 769.08 shall <br />be and the same are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> <br />
