ii. The. floors and walls are impervious to leakage or <br />seapage of water into the habitable space and are insulated <br />against dampness. <br /> <br />iii. The total window area in each room is equal to the <br />minimum window area as required in Section 1305.17(a). <br /> <br />iv. The total openable window area in each room'is equal to <br />at least a minimum as required under Section 1305.17 (b). <br />except where there is supplied some other device affording <br />adequate ventilation and approved by the Official charged with <br />the enforcement of this code. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That Section 1305.23 of the Building Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances now reading as follows: <br /> <br />1305.23 LIGHTING OF PUBLIC HALLS AND STAIRWAYS <br /> <br />(a) Every public'hall and stairway in every multiple dwelling <br />containing five or more dwelling units shall be adequately'lighted <br />at all times, naturally or artificially, to provide the illumina- <br />tion of not less than one foot-candle on every part thereof. <br /> <br />(b) Every public hall and stairway in structures containing not <br />more than four dwelling units may be supplied with conveniently <br />located light switches controlling an adequate light system which <br />may be turned on when needed, instead of full-time lighting. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1305.23 LIGHTING'OF PUBLIC HALL~ AND STAIRWAYS <br /> <br />a). That Section 1305.29(f) of the Building Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances now reading as follows: <br /> <br />1305.29(f) SAFETY AND SANITATION <br /> <br />(f) Every multiple dwelling shall provide and maintain in good <br />working condition a two-way communication system for the main <br />entrance thereof. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1305.29(f) SAFETY AND SANITATION <br /> <br />(f) Every multiple dwelling containing ten or more units shall <br />provide and maintain in gooC~working condition a two-way communi- <br />cation system for the main entrance thereof. <br /> <br /> Section 7. That Section 1305.30(a) of the Building Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances now reading as follows: <br /> <br /> 1305.30(a) MAINTENANCE OF EXTERIORS OF DWELLING STRUCTURES <br /> <br />(a) All exterior parts of every dwelling shall be maintained weather- <br />tight and shall be maintained so as to resist decay or deterioration <br />from any cause. This includes exterior walls, parapet walls, <br />chimneys and all other exterior structures either above or below <br />the roof line. <br /> <br /> <br />
